Finally got one worth having... Now to figure out how to get around it being 3 phase... But for what I got in it, A(freebie) few hundred for a converter or new motor is cheaper than a new one...

Very nice! I cant wait to get a bigger better compressor! Mine cant keep up with a die grinder for more than a couple minutes...

look up home made convotors with 2 older motors. budy of mine did it and had a cheep but good convotor.

get a new motor, for a compressor I don't think I'd run a static converter, and a rotary one probably cost more than a motor, nice score!

Any updates on the compressor? Is it a 7.5 hp?:waytogo:

I started to clean it up and paint it... It was a 7.5hp three phase... Still saving to buy a 7.5 single phase...

Also is the process of running electric to the shed for it and my new welder

Im gunna do something similar. Buddy of mine has a ranch with a 80 gallon compressor tank on the property. I asked him if i can have it and he said yes, just doesnt have a motor. Im thinking score! Who can pressure test the tank? Welding supply????
