I just bought this truck for 801.00 + 199.00 dealer fee + tt&l @ 1201.00 out the door. It runs good and has a bunch of brand new parts like front springs, 4 new shocks, torsion bar and bushings, steering joints and the shock, wiper motor, glow pulg controller. There have been quite a few used car dealers with these just recently but I never saw them on the govliquidation site? There must be some auctions were not privy to. Here are a few pictures.

Nice score. I just don't know how you guys find this stuff.

They sell those all the time on GovLiq. Only problem is the good ones are getting scarcer as the military is holding onto them.

Auto dealers have a list that only people with dealers licences can get access to. My brothers friend is always getting cars that are in some way "ruined" for cheap, fixes whatever is wrong, and sells a perfectly good car for a lower price. That is how my brother is rolling in a early '00's Mercedes wagon on a $35k/year budget.

This truck also has a brand new steering box and drag link. It appears they replaced the entire front suspension before selling it:confused:That makes no sence to me but oh well good for me and bad for me as a tax payer:crazy:

After driving this a little it is gutless, I figured with the 4.56 gears it would have a little pepp but it feels like more of a dog than my 6.2 k5 before I tore it apart.

most of the military trucks are gutless, I have driven alot of them and very seldom do you find one that has any power...

Mine runs fine...then again it's a 6000lb truck turning too small tires with deep gears and an engine equivalent to a smog era small block basically.

Put some bigger tires on it and it'll go better. Won't be a 383 or BBC but if the 6.2L isn't dead it should be a lot more drivable. Quieter too.

Slap a Banks Sidewinder turbo kit on it, make it feel like a 350 while getting 20+ mpg's. That and the cool turbo sound:smokin2:

The truck was running a little rough at idle so I took it to a diesel shop and had them look it over. They advanced the timing a little and it runs really good now. This truck has no smoke or blow by:DI also put a new set of stock bfg at tires on it, pulled the pintel hitch setup so I can put my license plate there and will be installing a reciever hitch soon.

The last thing I need is another build:doah:I basically have 3 going on right now, it's seriously hard on the pocket book:(

just bustin your nuts here . you sir have a type o.

It has a bunch of brand new parts like torsion bar and bushings.

our trucks dont have these. i think you ment sway bar. :D

nice ride tho.

Yep your right! You would think a guy who has stripped a k5 to the frame would know the difference, then again that ain't really mart either:D

The same thing happened with my CUCV. It was sluggish and would blow smoke at start up. As luck would have it, I found an actual used Snap-On timer for the 6.2 and timed it. It was 12 degrees off. Night and day difference. The truck drove much better afterwards. I wonder if the military detunes these intentionally.

its not intentional as far as I know, if it was an army truck, our mechanics just suck:-)

couple questions about the military issues trucks.

1: What is the big disc sticking up off the bumper behind the grille guard next to the driver's blinker?

2: what's with the holes in the grille that I think are usually in the upper half of the grille, perhaps 5" in from each side of the grille? can't see them in your pic - thus the crappy-from-memory description.

1-identifier marking thingy (unit, vehicle, something)

2-Black out and IR lights are mounted to the core support there

The hole on the right side is where the slave cable goes. It is a jumpercable setup that all diesel engine vehicles have, it is fun to jump start a 113 with a humvee :doah:

Derp yeah, he's right. Took mine off so long ago I forgot about that one. The other side is the black out light thingy.

Very low light headlight for when you're operating under blackout conditions. Makes it harder to be spotted at distance or from above.
