so here it is, a '65 c10 stepside with a 235 6 and a 4 speed on the floor.
heres the kicker, NO RUST. Im going to do a smallblock and keep the 4 speed. I dont know much about the older trucks, but i need to find some adapters to move the motor mounts back, as well as get some know on disc brakes and power steering/brakes. maybe there is a CK5 style forum out there?
i appreciate any input!

Wow she is clean. Post up in the garage, someone should be able to help you out. This site is not JUST about K5s.

I like that body style . When I was younger I had a friend with one where I worked . His was that body but a GMC . And it had a 305 V6 , looked just like a baby 409 , with the W heads and valve covers :thumb:

As for the motor mounts and disc brakes, the easy way is to use a 73-87 2wd front setup. Unbolt the front crossmember and suspension. Then bolt it all up to the 65. REZ makes an adapter bracket to use the power steering box from the same 73-87 2wd donor. As for the rear end you can either use the one from your 73-87 donor with some perch modifications or try to find 5 lug rear from a 67-72. The best way would be to find a 2wd urb or pickup cheap as a donor and swap it all over.

On my 62 I am swaping the entire body over to a 4x4 burb chasis and piecing two bed together to make about a 9ft fleetside bed. I will also be using part of the donor firewall as well to be able to use the pedals/brake booster etc.

hey 77, thats the exact info i was looking to find out. ive got a million 2wd pickups down at my shop, i know the 73-87 truck stuff will bolt to the 67-72 trucks, but wasnt sure about the older gens. it seems to me like my new '65 frame tapers in between the firewall and the front bumper. i havent gotten a chance to actually measure everything yet.

got pics of yours?

No good pics of mine yet as I haven't actually started working on it. Still getting all the donor parts collected. The only real issue with putting the 73-87 stuff on is that the track width is slightly wider. Like 3/4 inch or so I don't recall exactly. I honestly haven't paid much attention to it since I will make mine a lifted 4x4. It all bolts up though and for the cross member I think you have to drill a hole or two once it is bolted up. There is also the option of just swapping out the spindles from 73-87. They are supposed tobe a srait bolt in. But since you said you also wanted V8 mounts, the easiest thing is just to swap everything. Especially if you already have a 2wd donor, swap everything you can.
