My new (used) winch

I just bought a winch, and probably wouldn't have if it wasn't for the raves many of you guys give it. oh yeah and the price.

Rough shape but it does work well, at least with no load on it.

Needs brakes, guy says it wont hold a load unless you keep the toggle switch engaged. Says it will put slack in the line, not much, but its not holding tight.

Also,does anyone know how to tell how old it is by the date code? I believe it says JT6

Oh yeah, paid $250

edit, nice score...and do the warn 9500 xp motor mod on it
