Looks like you're safe then. What size and backspacing are the wheels?

Yep, those are the 37x12.5R16.5 Goodyear Wrangler MT's that the military was putting on the HMMWV's for a long while.

The wheels are 16.5 x 9.75 with probably 4.25 or 4.5" backspacing. I bought them used so I didn't get any specs. The tires are the Military H1 radials. I've always wanted to run a set of them on a Chevy pickup (M1008) since the HMMV first showed up at my national guard unit in 1993.

Ah, no wonder. You should have a lot less sidewall bulge than I have with those wheels. Looks good!

I worked out a deal on a flatbed for my truck... I'm going to cut the bottom half of the bed sides off of my truck bed and attach them to the side of the flatbed so you don't see the frame, fuel tanks, ect.

Here is a quick photoshop of what I want it to look like when I'm done...

Started building my flatbed today. Cut the top half off of a spare bed. I think it will work out fairly well.

after finally getting it back from the shop who replaced the transmission again under warranty a couple weeks ago, I got some work done on my truck this weekend. I adjusted the alternator belt and installed the rear CUCV bumper (too dark to take pics by the time I got done last night though).

Also, thanks to another member, booter410, I scored some rear shocks for free in a pile of parts that he wanted hauled off. The ones I had were just a little too long. I put them on the truck before heading into work around Tuesday last week.

Most of the pics in this thread have been lost due to the old krazyk5 server changing hosts. So I have a link in my sig to all my current pics that I didn't take the time to reupload to the new server before my hard drive crash :doah:

Guess it has been over a year since I have updated this thread.

14FF is in and converted to disc brakes:

I am re-wiring the power windows:

I took my truck out to Minnesota and back over the summer when my daughter needed surgery. It made the trip towing a small flatbed and my motorcycle without missing a beat.

I was able to finish mounting the front CUCV clevis mounting brackets and brush guard. I had to take the bumper off, drill 4 holes, mount the brackets... fight to get the two rusty bumper bolts holding the side braces onto the bumper loose... mount the bumper and brush guard and now all that is left is to put the clevis and pins on.

Looking good man. I was hoping you'd have driven that when I was there.

Does the CUCV brush guard just bolt on with the standard bumper bolts?

ill answer for him, yea it bolts right on....pretty easy setup.

truck looks good , why sell it ..?

Reminds me of the 83 GMC K30 I had. Same body and color(single tone, though), just mine had a white door not fenders.

The way it sits in the pics at the icecream shop, is that just 2 inch lift and 37's? Or did I miss a lift somewhere?

do you by chance have a pic of how flat the front springs are? i want to put 37s on my dually and i think theyll fit, my springs are perfectly flat and i have a zero rate 1.5 forward. just curious how youre doing that setup.
