still no body lift yet(not installed anyways) but i did get the steering ghetto-rigged...we cut down an old D60 tie rod that i had lying around and welded it to the correct lenth....installed the 2wd sector shaft i bought, and installed the 1104 pitman arm for crossover, please ignore the ghetto steering arm on the axle(it's only temporary)

Pics are on Page 3

*****EDIT**** 9/6/09
just picked up some 44/18.50/16.5 TSL's off craigslist for 150bucks!!!! now im lookin for some wheels for them....tryin to figure out if i gotta run 12in wide's or 10in wide wheels..... ill go grab some teaser pics real quick... oh yeah, i also got a new tach from summit, and the front ubolt kit....2wd pitman arm is on the way, once that and my pitman arm gets here i can fab up a draglink with my $hitty crossover arm so i can atleast pull the truck around at my house.... haha....PICS OF 44's ON PAGE 3(TEASERS)

*****EDIT**** 8/29/09

rear shackle flip is installed(echobit) and i can say while i didn't have to drop the tank or deal with those bastard rivets...what the hell!!!! what a pain in the ass, for lack of more R rated terms...those things dont line up well at all....lots of grinding/cutting/welding/etc.... but, they're finally done.... just gotta get drivelines/steering/tires/and lots of little stuff done.

oh yeah, zero rate and front superlift ubolt/stud kit are en route.... along with a new tach(didn't have one stock)

the body lift will be going on next week....enjoy...

well, i got the 12in front superlift springs installed. Dont worry about the temp washers on the ubolts and junk...a new stud/ubolt kit is on it's way...haha.... also, i gotta get a 2wd sector shaft and a good crossover arm(dont bother talkin about the junk that's on there now)

im trying to decide what to do about the rear lift....this is a BUDGET build and i have aal's and 4in blocks right now....im thinking about getting 8 in springs so i dont have to mess with dropping the tank and all the bs for the shackle flip. any input??? how hard is it to drop the tank???? i installd a flip on my old truck but htat was a pickup, so it was easy as can be.

i also have debated just getting an 8in block.

THIS IS GOING TO BE STRICTLY A MUD TRUCK, NOT TITLED OR DRIVEN ON THE STREET AT ALL

anyways, just wanted to whore some pics.....

Wow looks good, its up to your budget i guess... id do the shackle flip and the 8in springs or maybe save some cash and just buy 8inch springs and use your blocks.....i like the diy shackle flip, it made my tuck flex and ride so much smoother

X2 on the shackle reversal. Two bolts and some hoses drop your tank to access the rivets. I would also have a 1" or 2" lift block on hand to level out the truck. Blazers are notorious for needing mor lift in the rear to level itself out. 8" lift blocks are a little dangerous IMO.

yeah, i hear ya....i am in the process of buying an echobit shackle flip off a member, and im just gonna run that and see where it puts me....last echobit one i had actually gave me 5in. of lift, so im thinkin that will set me at 12in the front and 11 out back. i plan on soem fender trimming and 44 boggers....oh yeah, i also have 35spline outers for the 60..... rears got a detroit and they have 4.56 gears for now...

yeah, if you're going to do mudding, you're going to likely be using high horse power which will equal NASTY axle wrap with any lift block - especially an 8"er. dropping the gas tank is no big deal if it's not full of gas.

I had 5.5 inch blocks on it my truck and with my 358 it would twist the 14b like mad... now that i dont have blocks and short u bolts its way better. I currently have 8inches of suspention, 3 body and run 39.5s...456s are good gearing with 465/205.....what trans and case are you running, is the motor worked at all..?

trucks got a tbi350 with 230k miles on her, fresh 700r4 and np241c case.... i am going to pick up a freshened up tbi 454 in a week or so though....im not too worried about the gearing, but i feel axle wrap will now be a problem.

I could just hook you up with this for like 12k :D

It's right down the street

Anyways an 8" block would be crazy but a lot of the big gay mud trucks down here do that with 2links to the axle and it works fine

you have any pics of your truck on the jack? i see the stack of blocks...did you lift the truck as much as possible and hold it while you lowered the jack and added blocks under the jack,..then raise the truck more then repeat, until you had the truck high enough?

i have a pair of front 12'' & 8'' rear swamp runner springs w/4'' block(i have diy's shackle flip to rid myself of the blocks) and i have no way to lift my truck high enough to install these springs & my d60f axle lifts another inch & i want to install zero rates to move my front axle forward, which puts me 2'' low in the rear.

so, i may have to put zero rates & longer shackles in the rear or a 2'' block...i hate blocks and will do anything not to run them! but, i dislike the body lift even more..which is the reason for these springs,...replacing 8'' springs and 3'' body lift.

i built those wood blocks. i got the idea off pirate... it's 2x6's that i bought and cut down to 14 inch lengths...then stagered them like that and screwed each stack to the next...very simple and very storng..... it got the truck high enough so i could literally roll the 60 under the front (tires aired down) then put the ubolts up and air the tires up and bolt it all up. worked perfect..... that stack of wood is actually two of the stands i made...i just had them stacked up.

update...

well, got the rear lift done...i found an echobit shackle flip and it was a PAIN IN THE ASS to install.....lots of grinding,cutting,etc.... it will be welded on though, but we ran out of daylight tonight to get er done.....

please ignore the horrible pinion angle and the powerade bottle in the front fender.

the 3 in body lift will be going on next week. this biatch is gonna be large and in charge.....remember, it's strictly a trailer queen and mud truck. haha.

anyways, those rollers are almost 35in tall to give you a perspective on how big she is....

You had to grind?? Those went on my stock brackets and didn't have to grind anything, but glad they worked for you.

yeah, i had to grind...it was kind of a PITA to be honest.... a BFH and a little bit of grinding on the echobit bracket where it meets the bottom of the stock hanger got er done..... once i did one side, which was the biggest pain, the other side was a breeze. haha....

on a side note, if anyone has a 2wd sector shaft let me know....i need one, and kinda live in the boonies..there are no yards by me, and i've been swamped at work(thank god)

thanks!

so the echobit shackle flip doesn't require the removal of the stock bracket, good info. i have a set of diy's shackle flip for my k10. i also have a k5 i plan on flipping the rear shackles and it would be nice not to drop the tank or remove the rivets. who makes the echobit flip & how much lift does it provide?

well, the guy who was making them isn't anymore...because of fitment issues i think! anyways, i found one for sale off a member on here...and i also didnt' want to mess with dropping the tank/rivets.....i actually netted about 6inches of lift using stock shackles i know this because the front has 12 in springs, and my rear had an aal and 4in blocks(from the 6in lift....now it sits about level.

i'm going to fully weld the brackets in when i get a little more time...it's on the to-do list anyways...

hmmmm, it doesnt look like it would be that hard to build...is it 3 pieces? the 2 sides and the spacer on the bolt? i need to find 1 of these flips, heck i may could make them on a small scale.

exactly what i thought brother...the problem is with accountability...some jackass rolls his truck doin some stupid isht and it's all of a sudden your fault.

2 sides, bottom piece in the middle, and the spacer.

I didn't have any fitment issues on mine at all. The member that was making them just quit and bailed on a lot of people with their $$ not for any particular reason. There was somebody Wes (ThatK30Guy) I believe that was trying to replicate the design. IIRC it was advertised for 5.5" of lift with stock shackles.
