Here are the pics of my new to me 1991 K5. I've had a bunch of these and this one is probably one of the nicest. It's my first with factory power mirrors. Dash is nearly perfect! Interior in general an 8. New cat-back exhaust. 121K on the clock, but the ODO doesn't work. Speedo does; (any ideas?) All power windows work. Rockers beginning to get some rot towards the rear. Tail pan is toast. I'm looking for the best way to repair. No leaks, lots of power, shift perfect. One brake (right rear?) locks up sometimes when braking; I'm thinking maybe a bad wheel cylinder. Everything else works including the cruise. Whaddya think?

I am jelly like a samitch sir:waytogo:

I can't wait for the day I find one that nice around here to use for a DD and family hauler.

That baby is clean. There's tiny gears that run the odo off the speedo cable. It's fixable, but you might need a spare odometer (for parts), a magnifying glass, tweezers, gun oil, and the patience of a monk.

As far as the brakes, yeah I'd check wheel cylinder. If one side leaks and coats the shoes, they can get 'grabby'.

May we ask what a clean K5 goes for in your neck of the woods these days?

I gave $2200 for it after negotiations. A bargain. It's not as clean as it looks in the pics. The rust is a bit more than I initially thought, but manageable. I've been looking for another since I sold the one in my avatar and this is the first one that was worthy.

This is a '91. I'm told the speedo/Odo went electric this year, no?

my 90 burb has an electric speedo...

nice find!:thumb:

Had the brake fluid flushed out as it looked like coffee :eek1: Cleaned everything up with some Brakleen and it's good to go. Just need to get the tail pan cut out and replaced and I should be good to go.
