I am completely new at this forum stuff I've always read but never wrote anything befor so bare with me
First I am in the process of building a end of days/zombie/every day driver k5 it's a 84 with a built 355 roller with NASCAR edition edelbrock manifold and 750 edelbrock carb with a 2" spacer and Chevy fabricated tall valve covers brand new mildly built Dana 44s with 4:56 gears 35" tires 3 core radiator 700r4 trans 31 gallon gas tank all new bushings from frame up professional Tan rhino line exterior and Black interior
My plans are a complete external roll cage and HEAVY duty bumpers skid plates and rock sliders a black phantom grill a simple internal roll cage and a simple engine bay roll cage type deal to protect the motor incase a wreck or something and also I'd like a Dana 60 front end and 14 bolt rear end a 3" body lift a dual snorkel system KC lights out the ass lol and a water tight center consol that will fit a collapsible AR-15 and AR-10 along with some pistols and ammunition and one of those fridgerators ima make look like part of center console and complete water proof seats front and back along with 4point harness front and back a all aluminum dash by diy4x with ALL mechanical gauges and would like to get other ppls opinion on this is and what else should I do or change up ps I would post pics but don't kno how to from my iPhone

Sounds cool instead of the KC lights look at newer LED lights, when the zombies attack if you need to leave them on for long periods of time they draw way less juice than a conventional light.

Also just build the exo cage right and you won't need an interior cage, just adds a weight.

Other than that sounds cool.

I really don't like the edelbrock carbs for off road use, but if it works for ya it works

Yea I always been a Holley double pumper guy lol but I wanted to try something new and I want to put like a small 10 gallon fuel cell in the back for a spare gas tank type deal

Wow sounds like a fun build, but are you building a car or submarine.

X2 on the leds and if there is a wisper of a leak in the light it won't go out like halogen or hids.

Also if you break up your paragraph a little it makes it easier to read kinda like blazinzuk and I did.

Best carb for off road use is the tried and true quadrajet

If you already know Holley's, I had very good luck with the Truck Avenger.

Yea I guess the main reason I went with edelbrock is because I was trying to stay with a all black powder coated and red anodized accent theme in the engine bay

What's bad about the edelbrocks anyways did u have bad experience with them

Lmao on the submarine comment no I just want my k5 to pretty much be capable of any and every thing to a certain degree is all I guess from being in the marines and having to adapt over come has kinda carried over to my k5 build plus I just want something that no one else has

I've not had any direct experience with them. I know of at least one member that does pretty good with an Edelbrock. I think there's an "offroad" kit he put in it, otherwise basically a standard carb.

I just understand the Holley/modular carbs better, so I stick with those.

In my experience the edelbrock are horrible for offroad. Even with their kit which is just a springloaded needle and seat. Like my Q-jet 100% better.

use photobucket to post pics and copy and paste. Sounds aweomse I love zombies myself. Cant wait to see it.

A nice Zombie deterrent would be air compressor powered 'cannons' :waytogo: I believe golf balls would rifle thru 1 1/2" pvc drain pipe nicely!

Times Eleventy-gazillion !!!

off road and holley should never be in the same sentence, A q-jet will out perform a truck avenger offroad, and will support more horsepower with its much larger CFM, and get better throttle response and fuel mileage due to its spreadbore design.

not only that, when the zombies come where are you gonna get parts for the Holley???? q-jets are every where.
