So my Yukon (specs in sig) has been giving me some trouble. It has had a stumble/hesitation for the past few years, mostly from 1,000-1,500 rpms, light load, at 5-10 mph. I have gone through almost everything I can think of to try and diagnose and fix the problem, but nothing seems wrong. There are no vacuum leaks, egr valve is ok, pcv, just changed the spark plugs, cap rotor and wires, maf sensor is good, new fuel filter, etc. and I just can't pin it down. Up until last week, it was a small enough of a problem to be able to ignore it as a "quirk" of my truck, but now it is becoming a much greater nuisance, and is even affecting the drivability. It has had the Check engine light for a while for an O2 sensor out of range, but seeing as they're very pricey and nothing was affected, I mostly ignore it. I'll scan it tomorrow to see if there are any new codes.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be? I'm stumped. One friend suggested the throttle position sensor, so I'll check that too.

Denso O2 sensors aren't bad, I think I paid 36 bucks each for my s10. Is the sensor bad or just reading outside what it should be? After the cat, left/right bank? I wonder what would happen if the smog pump wasn't working? Fuel pressure regulator? Dunno, just throwing stuff out there

Its its the vortec motor, the gear is prob worn on the dizzy. Pull the codes. if it comes up with a P1345 the gear is toast. Had the same off idle stumble till I changed out the dizzy.

I noticed that there was play in the dizzy rotor when I changed out the cap and rotor, that's not normal, is it? I think that may be the problem.

Went to Autozone and all the codes pointed to the egr valve.:doah: They wanted $150 for a replacement. I looked in the plug on the valve and saw corrosion, which some baking soda and water with a stiff bristle brush and dielectric grease fixed.:D Smooth as butter now.
