I've accumulated a lot of stuff over the last 20 years messing around with 1st-gen and squarebody GM trucks.
Every once in a while, guys like us have a purge of the stuff that's accumulated - usually titled along the lines of, "Garage Cleanout." Well, CK5'ers - I got a career, family stuff, too many irons in the fire, and I'm just slightly nuts.
So here's my wackadoodle deal: I clean my shop out and fill my M1101 trailer with stuff and sell the contents for $1500, sight unseen. I simply guarantee that the fair-market value of the stuff is worth more than that amount if sold piecemeal. It's like a grab-bag on wheels. It's stuff that's quite useful to the average CK5'er - if it can't be used directly it can certainly be flipped at a profit. I'm just transferring risk and time management, and cleaning my shop out...and it could be fun for all involved
Rules:
-Buyer agrees up front to pay me $1500 cash upon delivery.
-I deliver the trailer (filled to it's practical extent) of assorted GM truck parts (used and/or NOS) to the buyer.
-Buyer must take ALL the cargo.
-I keep the trailer.
-I'll help unload the trailer.
-In the case that the buyer feels the cargo (in aggregate) is below $1500 fair-market value, an arbitration poll on CK5 will be posted listing the cargo and the CK5 community will decide by simple majority in one week if that's the case (or not). If the stuff ain't worth $1500 minimum, I'll pay the disgruntled buyer $50 for his/her time and I keep the stuff...and I'm also then out the fuel money and time. This is simply about value, not about if the buyer would need/want a particular part or parts had they known what they were beforehand.
-Maximum radius for delivering the trailer is 250 miles. I live in Ridgecrest, CA. That puts LA, San Diego, SLO, Bakersfield, Fresno, and Vegas into play.
The nature of the parts includes multiple specimens from all of the following categories: body, interior, drivetrain, and aftermarket add-on accessories. Possibly also some tools.
