Narrowed K5

I was surprised how well they fit in and worked. After I cut them down they slid right in to where you see them.

what was the deciding factor in how far in you went? I was going to go to the body line in the hood. you went just past it. can you see an exposed edge where the hood is taller?

as for the blower motor. does the fender clear the tub by it and just the motor was in the way? or did you hack into the tub also?

I wanted to keep the grill intact. The hood actually sits down below the top of the fender. I thought it would sit higher but was able to get it lower. It would have been nice to keep it outside the body line but it was not to far from being there.

With the blower out and the fender skinned the fender was able to fit without cutting or adjusting the firewall.

thanks again! I am torn between keeping my heat and doing a seriously big taper. heat is nice in the northeast if you wanna wheel in the winter.

Aww, cmon chop it up :hack: You can always wear another coat :D

I am going to attempt to at least get the blower back in so I can have heat. I hope that I can get it to fit.

How about one of those Mojave heaters, they're pretty small and compact.

a friend of mine has one in his jeep. it's basically everything we have on the firewall but you can mount it anywhere. the radiant heat off the core is enough when it's cold out but having a fan blow across it is necessary when it's freezing out.

you could always mount a small fan inside the cab that pulled air through the core instead of pushing from the engine compartment.

I wheeled with a guy in a buggy that had the radiator in the back. he ran the coolant through the cage tubing. kept the floor pan warm and dry. whenever he got it wet though the sides would steam a little.

i use a heater out of a freightliner the one that is under the bed in the sleeper and used small flexible plastic tubing think its for sump pumps for my duct work and remove it for summer wheeling.

when you guys bent the front fenders in does it make the gap between the fender and the door larger or does it stay stock i noticed on cyberfires it stayed stock .or does it depend on how much you narrow it?

I think if you cut the fender or put a bend in it you can keep the gap the same. If you just angle the fender the gap will open up.

Here is what mine looks like.

It opened up quite a bit but I don't usually run doors so I wasn't to worried about it. I'm sure there are ways around it but I didn't want to spend that much time.
