National Get together of K-5s (EAST Coast) July 2007 UPDATED 4-10-07!

*Beats self into pulp*

I forgot about paragon offroad park.

Its in PA, Tellico is in western NC.. would be a matter of votes. Or both! but i cant make it to both in 07.
Theres probably more for the masses at paragon, From 2WD up to body damage garenteed. Paragon is actually about 100 miles closer to me as well.

I can probably get to either spring 07.

Dont know if i mentioned it yet, But im 16 and still working on my liscense and getting the k5 street legal, But ill definetly be good to go by spring.

Id be up for some east coast party rollin in 08 though.

Located near Hazelton Pennsylvania on 15,000 privately own acres is what is known as Paragon Adventure Park. Paragon Adventure Park is privately owned, world class 4x4 adventure park which organizations use for guided events.
http://www.paragonap.com/

This place looks incrediable and I think might be the right place. 1 Day pass $35.00 per vehicle and includes driver. They have a group rate for 25 or more. This place has 130 miles of trails from Mild to Wild.

Paragon is home to over 130 miles of trails and 5500 acres of privately owned / world class off-road trails and recreational opportunities. Located in Hazleton, PA. PAP is located near the intersection of Interstate 80 and Interstate 81. Paragon is only 2 hrs from Philadelphia and New York City.

So this looks like it will shape up for an east coast get together?

:haha:

Make a date! How bout spring 07? Time enough for alot of people, Could have a semi-annual paragon ride, once in the spring, and another in the fall.

Im game!:D

For the date, Perhaps you should come up with 4-5 dates good for you, since it was your idea, and have it as a poll.

Edit - and by spring i mean march-may =). maybe even try to pick a week that people still in school have off for spring break? just an idea.

Well we need more people to be interested! Lets get more feed back

Gotta love that P.E.R.S. I do!

I am thinking about next year for the big get together. That is why I am pushing this now. Back in 1979 & 1980 I went to Car Craft Magazines Street Machine Nationals and it was great fun. Seeing others rigs and talking about this or that and how the heck they made that.....

My west trek is still going to happen this year. Be a good chance for some of us to meet.

yeah, Alaska is just to far.... and I live in Washington! lol! Colorado would be better...

damn that means I have only a couple of years to get my blazer running. :D I better hurry the hell up.

That's your problem right there...

FYI, BlazerBash, a by now well-established CK5 event, attracts about 0.1% of the membership of this site. And even after the event received coverage in a national 4x4 magazine, there wasn't much buzz about it here on the site.

JMS lots of planing has to go into promoting the event and follow up after wards. Contacting the press media inviting people to it. Finding national vendors to come, get local news media to cover it. The biggest thing is to tell others about your experience.

Here is a list of companies to try to have come.
JEEP
GM
FORD
HUMMER
TOYOTA
FLOW TECH
K&M
BF GOODRICH
US Army

Of course don't forget Peterson Publishing (magazines) these are the things that help. Find a celebrity that likes four wheeling (Gretchen Wilson, Ted Nugent ) this get more media coverage.

This is just part of the behind the scene work that has to be done. That is why we need to A.) Find a location B.) Get a date.

So two years from now would be better but a year works just more pressure to get it in gear.

I used to project at the arena back in the 80's and terrible Ted had a Ford Bronco High roller he would drive down from Mich to do the shows and was a great guy. We probably could get him easy due to the cross bow and 4x4 tie in.

Oh did I forget to mention the WET T SHIRT CONTEST........

Isnt Rausch Creek more rocky and intense then paragon? As far as number of easy trails and such? Plus it says that fullsize vehicles will have a harder time. Anybody have any good galleries of rausch creek?

And what about doing both over the course of a week, or an annual trip to each?

Edit- Also, Paragon has 5500 acres and rausch only has 1700

That is right! I want to do this because I love my Truck and want to spend a day or two with other minded people. The time we spend on keeping these Iron beast alive and the blood n muscle makes this a common bind. Much as when you serve or work with a group where you depend on the other guy to cover you or watch your back.

When you share an experience it makes you closer. I used to have a Harley and completely rebuilt it. I rode it to Sturgis, SD for the 50th rally and have great memories of meeting people on the road. Starting out as just two then hooking up with others. We had mechanical troubles but also had good times. These kinda memories you do not forget.

The journey of a thousand miles starts with one small step. You can be one with your rig and be with others that feel the same as you. A true love for their rig. Have you and a few friends got together on a weekend night and cruised the burger barn and had some guy say WOW I had a truck like that when I was younger" then they say how nice your rig looks or how they miss her.....

PLEASE give some thought to this guys/gals we can do this and have a freaking good time too! I will do all I can to make this happen. I will do the contacting and follow up so lets start spreading the word.

I think you should start a new thread about a trip to paragon in 07, Have a poll as to when it should be. Preferably once spring has started. so we can take off our tops without freezing :haha:

I am IN, As long as an emegency dosent come up and suck up my money/time, and as long as its april or later. =)

im game, mine should be 100% to where i want it at that point. then we gatta get this in before i decide to change it again haha

Rausch is more fullsize friendly then PAP. At least at RC if a tree is absolutely in the way I can drop it. PAP might have 5500 acres but does not use even half of it. I have wheeled both places. RC has more stocker friendly trails too. Either place is great wheeling but I prefer RC and know I could get a much better deal with them then PAP. Also at PAP you need to have the person guiding watch a vid in the morning and do some other bs. RC, just as long as you have 3 in your group you can go. Also the map at RC will not get you lost and everything at RC is marked pretty well. Oh, I was just at PAP 2 weeks ago.
