Neat demonstration on drive line angles

I've seen that before but it's a great demonstration.

Had a hard time trying to read your post - very distracted by your avatar. Looks like she's in phase and I notice some vibrations.

Random bump of the day.

So i was wondering, if the driveshaft is speeding up and slowing down as it rotates, as in the demonstration when it is pulled off center, and that is cancelled out by a properly aligned second U joint, then what about the u joints on the front axle? Are the front tires speeding up and slowing down the further you turn the wheels off center?

Anybody get what I'm saying? I think i need more coffee.

I would guess, yes. I don't think it's a huge amount of speed difference though so in a driveshaft it shows up as a vibration. The rpms at the tire is significantly slower than the driveshaft rpms and if your tires are turned at any tight angle you aren't moving very fast (unless you are trying to roll it. :D ) so it probably just isn't much of an issue there. :dunno:
