Neat idea........

tho neat, I'd have to question it's functionality for me... I'm pretty sure i couldn't sleep in the back of that, no matter how tall it is..

Pretty sweet!

hope it has real axles...at least dana 44's...

Toured one of those at BB last year. Saw the guy at the market, then talked to him later. It was done correctly.

I saw one of those going down the interstate a while back. Im pretty curious about the inside too. It had front and rear winch, looked like it had furnace and water heater... I would hate to get that spare tire down off the back though.

Ive been all over that website that builds those. That truck in your picture is about 150k-200k to build. The interior is nicer than most highend houses. That is my ultimate dream vehicle, some people what Ferrari and Porsche, I want that expedition vehicle. lol

The one thing I dislike about the Jeep and the aftermarket 4Wheel brand pop ups for Blazers is them having just the one side window. Since I'm into admiring all the surrounding scenery, I liked my Chalet's two side windows and the two forward cabover windows, and the one in the back door, which could have been bigger.

My wish is for one of the guys in our Chalet owners forum to take an orphaned Chalet shell and engineer it like it should have been done in the first place, as a lighweight, fully removable, super cool camper. The latest techno-wonder appliances would be great, and it could still be done for less than one of those Jeeps, so long as the mods on the Blazer don't get out of hand......

EarthRoamers are awesome, but the price tag keeps most people from actually putting them at much risk off road. Also, look at the weights of the larger ones. With GVWR like 18,000 lbs, the climbing power and flotation are not what we think of for an "off road" vehicle. You are also looking at high weight rating tires. To keep perspective, the super duty ones are as heavy and consume as much fuel as full-size motorhomes, with a lot less space inside.

The concept is similar to the Revcon 4x4s.

As for the Jeep one, I bet the top pops up at an angle, with a slide forward in the front. This would cover the solar panel, but allow sleeping up top. If not, the whole thing is kind of a waste.
