Mostly really boring, but if your anything like me, you will be able to watch it couple times over and still be entertained. I had to press record before i put the camera in place and then had to remove it before pressing stop. Hence the first and last couple minutes being me breathing heavily while electrical taping the camera in its place... BTW this is my 79 blazer.

And another little video of the front spring bushing on the burb. Who knew a new poly bushing would have so much slop!

Cool. That second video, The bushing is shot right. it can't move that much when in good condition. Cool though. I want a GoPro camera.

That bushing has less then 10k miles on it. I belive its a cause for the spongy feeling my truck currently has. I think the steering is just pushing the whole axle back and forth rather then actually rotating the knuckle. That video is best viewed in full screen. I want a gopro too! This one was just filmed with my HTC EVO's camera. About the bushing, I really want to make a "trac-bar" for it. One that would bolt to the leaf spring bolt and then bolt onto the axle as a means of taking any slop at all away from the bushing and eliminating as much slop/spong feel as possible.

Cool top video. It's easy to forget all of the engineering that goes into the design of that front end.

Yea it is! I plan on taking more of them. Similar to this one but with the camera placed in different spots. Its just fun to do.

I love the idea of a GoPro, but after this:

I'm a little soured on the idea.
I mean, I can buy between about 4 and 8 of those for one GoPro, depending on the model.....
I can build a case......

And with those, nobody will know you are filming unless you show or tell them.......

The GoPro is definitely the better camera, and I may get one one day. But in the meantime I will have lots of movies for less........

I kinda hate to ask what you were doing while filming that bushing.............
But I have seen lots of poly bushings on trucks, and they do give a little, but that really looks excessive.

I don't think I could help but jack up that spring and pull that bolt out and look.
It really looks like the plastic has torn.
Any chance the steel sleeve got left out?

The poly bushings are supposed to be stiffer than the rubber ones......

Very cool vid, I love watching stuff work! You should go on a twisty road next time.

Once my truck is rolling again I want to film my front axle under heavy braking to see whats going on. I beleive the front axle is wraping and combined with the taller steering arm is causing it to push into the drag link and making the wheels turn right.

What do you mean you hate to ask what i was doing while filiming the bushing?

I have had lift springs before that had poly bushings and they didnt flex as much as this one.

Just so happens that i have a brand new set of OE style bushings that i will swap that one out with. Ofcoarse, It hardly matters cause i dont drive this truck at the moment.

And no, i vividly remember putting those bushings in there and i know the sleeve is in there cause it was kinda a pain in the ass to put in.

Yep. I plan on getting lots of films from all angles. Should be good.

Well, in the first video, you were driving around, and we were watching things work.
But in the second, unless I just missed something, which was possible, since it was midnight when I was watching it, all I saw was this just this slow rhythmic movement of the vehicle.

With no obvious cause......

Well the first video was on my blazer. The second was on the burb that's sitting in the garage. A while back I had a friend move the wheel back and forth while I watched stuff trying to figure out where my sloppy steering was coming from. It was then that i noticed the slop in the bushing. I just got this fancy phone that takes good vids a couple weeks ago so i figured I should film it and show it to you dudes.

I was figuring that it might be steering, not something freaky. I realized that since its not being used now, its not a high priority.
But, if you do get around to checking or replacing that bushing, be sure to post what you find.

That really does not look right.
