Need a measurement from anyone with an 87 GM

/forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gifI need the measurement of the stock front shackle on an 87 GM 4x4. This is the shackle located at the rear of the FRONT leaf spring. Center of top mounting hole to center of bottom mounting hole. It should be either 4" or 4 1/2".

Is that off an 87 or your 90 Burb? My 91 Burb measures 4.5".

From the ORD site:

"In 1988 the factory introduced a longer front shackle on K5's, Suburbans and some 1-ton trucks. These shackles are the same length as our HD shackles."

Geez, had the answer in front of me the whole time ....

Well, I didn't actually go out and measure my stock shackles. I remember reading at one point that ORD HD shackles (what I have now) are 4.5" and that they are .5" longer. Sooo...I made the assumption that my stockers were 4". That may not be the case now...if I remember, I'll go out and measure them and post up what the stockers on my '90 suburban were.
