get the 140A from a pontiac transport with dual AC. Need to modify the mounting point a little to fit but it is 140A

Thunder said my alt is a 60amp. My amp is a 400 watt 2 channel MTX MXA4002. I bought it new last year. Old stock. I'm guessing a 03-05 model. I'm gonna get new battery, and see if it fixes my problems. If not I'll return it and get the alt.

60 amps are usually mounted up on the older carb'd engines, i looked up an alternator on the web and it says yours takes the 94 amp, i believe about the time when they strated switching over to higher amp alts because of the computer components, electric pumps and whatnot. More power needed.
I would remove your alternator and take it to a store that has the capability of checking it, also as i mentioned, have that battery checked out as well.

The RPO codes on my Jimmy show both a 105A and a 130A alternator.
