Okay, I hate to start another "can I fit this thread" but I have searched and didn't see anyone running the setup I want so here goes.

I bought this 1991 a few months ago and its time to lift it. I bought the 3" all spring TC ez-ride kit and will be installing it over thanksgiving. I really want to run the Toyo M/T 33x13.50 on 15x10 with 4" backspace, however I do not want to trim anything since this is in good shape (only has 67,000 miles). Im getting truedesignwheels to make me some steel wheels so I can get any backspace I want. I will keep the swaybar connected on/off road. My off-roading consist of camping trips, hunting and beach for surf fishing no flex at all. I live in South Texas so its all flat here. I have searched and seen a few threads and some run 33x12.50 on 15x8 4" BS stock which is why I want to go a little wider being lifted 3". I like the wider stance since Im not lifting higher with taller tires.
However again, I don't want to trim and I don't want rubbage of any kind.

Please take the poll and let me know your thoughts on tire size/wheel width and backspacing.

Heres some pics of what I want, please advise me if this is doable.

Wow, super clean rig :waytogo:

I have run 33x12.5x15 bfg on stock rims (like yours) at w/ 4" of lift on my 91 blazer for years. Never rubbed a bit. Wider rims, more backspacing, less lift :dunno:

Thanks, I may be asking to much to run this combo, I just want to do this right the first time w/o any regrets

You are aware of the fact that you'll only get 3 shots to ask the same question?
After that, the forum software will automatically lock you in the Lounge for 6 weeks.

LOL...well Im ordering the wheels tomorrow so this will self destruct in 24hrs :doah:

if you guys dont want to post a reply at least vote in the poll :thumb:

my guess is the tires on the blue/white rig are 33/12.5 on 10" rim.

i don't think you'll get any 13.5" tire to fit on a 3" lift without rubbing something or cutting, but i can't say this with conviction as i never tried.
if you're adamant about that "fat look" with 33's you may want to do the 10" rim with 4.5" back space, a 12.5" tire and limit your bumpstops. will it rub on 3" lift? hopefully someone that has run this combo will chime in with their experience and pictures.

perhapse you can modify your poll to include a 33/12.5 on a 10" rim too

4.5" BS on a 15" wheel may put the back side of the wheel into the outer tie rods. I run 3.75" BS and they are real close. 4" BS may be the max and even that may knock off wheel weights.

I agree, I tried to fit some 16x10's 4.5"bs with 36x14.50 from a 2000 silverado on my old Jimmy and the wheels hit the TRE's, couldn't even bolt them on.

ok...maybe that's why Chevy went with the rally wheel dimensions, because 4" is the max BS you can safely go. the problem i see 88 is you want that real deep look and not hit the fenders. just limit your bumpstops and pray :D

it would probably be easier to PM Never Satisfied, who ownes the blue/white rig and ask him what he has and if he has any issues. remember. he has a 4" lift though........

I talked to him allready, He has just the 4" lift, 15x10 with only 3" of backspacing with 33x12.50 and has no rubbing, not even flexing light offroad according to him, I figured since mine would be 4" backspacing (tucked in another inch I could pull it off).

If I just go with the 8" and 33x12.50 Toyo since they measure true, not shorter like other brands. However I want to make them as deep as possible without rubbing...so again...whats backspacing should I go with...3.75"...3.5"?

These tires do ballon out on a 10" wide wheel so I will go with the poll vote on buy 8" wide to play it safe.

Heres the 33x13.50 on 15x10's, looks like the tread width isnt as wide as I thought and Im not digging the ballon look. Im still gonna get the 13.50 but mount them on the 8" wide wheel.

Im kinda curious, thats an awful expensive tire to run on the street. You can get 33's in the KM2's for $200 a tire. The Toyo tires are a good looking tire but awful high priced to me but thats just me buy what ya want its your money.

I can get them for $199ea in 33x13.50 but the 33x12.50 cost more...go figure.

I just got off the phone with Jim and ordered the 15x8 with 3.75" BS.

That being said, I still want those 33x13.50 tires. They are a true 33 whereas others say like 32.4" or so......whatcha think, will they mount on a 8" wheel?

They will be powdercoated a silver mettalic that looks like the rally argent. I have a set of rally wheels in the garage but I want something different and easier top keep clean.
