I brought em down from 2500 to 2k and they smog it. I probably could have brought em down a few more but its got Fresh a/c and a flawless interior and the incredibly rare power mirrors. Low mileage BBC 3/4 ton 2wd. I really feel anything lower than that would be treating them unfairly and thats not what im about at all.It looks pretty straight. I'd go for it. The price on CL looked good tooBet you can get em down a few hundred though.

I thought 3/4 ton burbs had a th400 but a little research and your right, 4l80 is awesome but im not paying to rebuild that when it goes the th400 out of my last burb is going in for sure lol.NICE!!!!!!
That will tow awesome, 454 4l80 (should be).
Looks good![]()
Well im waiting for some pictures under the hood, rear interior and front suspension as well as waiting for them to confirm it has no leaks and they have to re-smog it since its been on cl for over a month which does make me worry a bit its sat that long on cl but with gas prices as they are right now its not all that suprising. Thank god its not my DD lol. Im probably going to head up there with my dad on saturday if i can get the day off work or sunday if i cant. And after this i REALLY DONT WANT TO HEAR WHEELBASE COMMENTSdude seriously, you need to take it home tonight!
hop to it, if you need a ride to go get it let me know and i'll take you to make sure you dont miss it lol.
plus it'll be a happy ending finally to your other thread. lol

Everyone is saying this yet its been sitting on cl for over a month now. Regardless i just pulled 2k out of the bank and called up a buddy of mine and hes down for late night road trip. All i need to see is if the person can have it smogged with that short of notice. I asked 20 minutes or so ago and no response. That's a clean Burb. If you've already got them down to 2K and it runs and drives you better get down there NOW. Also, a smog check is good for 90 days so you're still good there.
How to tell a 454 from a 350, well for starters a BBC is much larger than a SBC but the tell tale that it's at least a BBC of some sort will be that it will have 7 bolts holding the valve covers on instead of the 4 bolts that SBC's have.
I have agreed on a price of 2,000 with the seller. It has already passed smog.

I just talked to him and worked out all the details. The rear interior is a little dirty and should be cleaned but no rips or tears. It has never broken down on him before and he did some work like cap/rotor last year. It does not leak, 2k is an acceptable price. He has used it as a daily driver for his wife and it was previously owned by 1 ford and 1 chevy mechanic one of which used it to tow his boat around. Sounds like a stand up guy, As for smog he had it smogged about 3 1/2 months ago which is the issue. He cant get it smogged for me to tonight but he says tomorrow probably sounds good, My buddys off work tomorrow and ill just call in sick and head down. I also just grabbed 2k cash out of the bank so im good to go.He has agreed to call me sometime tonight after work since he says his work tonight will determine his schedule tomorrow. Probably in construction since i heard a saw cutting in the background a few times. This is straight from the California DMV.
When a car is sold, who is responsible for the inspection?
The seller is required to provide the buyer with a valid smog inspection certification at the time of the sale or transfer. Smog certifications are good for 90 days from the date of issuance.
The inspection is not required on a transfer if a biennial smog certification was submitted to DMV within 90 days prior to the vehicle transfer date (a vehicle inspection report may be required for proof of certification).

If you don't want to miss out on a hell of a deal then just ask him to take $50.00 off the price (to cover a smog test) and you'll take care of the smog yourself.
People who procrastinate lose out on all the deals.
, Im pretty terrified if it fails smog., Im pretty terrified if it fails smog.
definitley, the CARB is out of control and countless great vehicles are being scrapped over the smallest bull****. I cant wait for this state to go bankrupt so all of their bull**** falls to pieces. So if it fails when he goes to smog it will that be a deal breaker for you? If so then let him smog it, if not then don't worry about it. TBI trucks pass pretty easy if everything is there, hooked up and working. The only thing that could be a problem and make it fail is if it needs a new CAT.
Completely false in my experience. My 76 k5 ran just fine but it had no cat, 800 bucks later and a half assed ****ty exhaust it passed smog. The California Air Resourcses Board is so out of control its disgusting.Okay so I am not in Cali and I know nothing about smog checks overall.
It seems a decent running truck would not have much problem passing smog and not passing smog may have you replacing things that you may need to anyway.
True or Not?
