Need exaust options,,,, H PIPE?

Here is two pics I dug up. Wanna take a gander at how old my flowmasters were when this pic was taken? One was a year old and the other was 6 months. One winter and a dozen or so trips through the mud later.....Regardless, they won't actually need replacing for probably close to 10 years.

You mentioned tips and where to dump them..... dual 5" dumped behind the rear axle has worked for me...:wink1: Sounds so much bigger and angrier with the larger tips.

which would be louder? H-pipe, X-pipe, or jus straight duals? ive gatta do an exhuast system for mine b4 inspection in may.

I think an "x" pipe and "H" pipe are the same thing. Far as I know a system is actually slightly louder without a crossover.

Yeah, 2.5" from the collectors, through the mufflers, and to the 5" tips.

Duals are louder. If noise is all you are after.
H pipe and X pipe sound way better than duals.
IMHO H pipe sound better than X pipe

H pipe is better for low end.
X pipe works best on top.

No, those are regular aluminized flowmasters and will look identical to yours in 2 months of winter driving....

i have 2 40 series that i bought 3 years ago, drove them for 6 months, mostley in the snow and rain, than they got pulled off the truck and spent 2 years outside in the rain and crap

This time I had the exhaust run all the way to the back. My last setup I had turn downs and they blew dust like crazy..stoping in a full converatble with dust bellowing out everywere sucks...much better now:D

Did you notice any difference in sound / performance with the x-pipe. I've been thinking of installing one just like you have when I get my headers.

I have the H pipe
Well this was a SBc to BBC upgrade so I have no referance as to how it ran with out it. When I first fired up the BBC I was using my old SBC exhaust ( bent to hell to get it to fit teporally fo the first fire up) with 40series Flows and it was LOUD! real LOUD ( sounde mean though). Now I have the quieter 50series...doesn't scare the dog away now hehehee
