Need help ASAP. How do you wire up an auto trans temp gauge?

[80 Chevy K20 4x4]

I bought an auto trans temperature gauge from a fellow member a while back and want to install it now. I think the S post on the gauge is for the Sending unit for the temp gauge, and the I is for the 12v power ignition source. Then do I just wire up the light for the gauge with 1 wire being hot and the other the ground?

Sounds like you have it figured out right.
S - sending unit
I - ignition hot
? - 12v with the lights
? - ground
