To replace the Edelbrock on my 78. I would do an electric choke swap on it and a full rebuild. Supposedly a 77 350 unit. What do you think? Look good? Hard to read the numbers.

first pic . back face run those stamped in casting #'s for exact break down info .

and from what I have read and been told don't touch the secondary air door spring setting screw thingy .

17082213 is the carb #..

Google search shows its off an '82 chevy 350...truck probably,unless its the electric feedback style carb,then it'd be off a car..

I'm not scared to adjust the air valve spring on a Q-jet,it can be tricky to set it just right,but not impossible to do...you never know if its been messed with already too!..

Im good at tuning that spring. Thanks For clearing up the carb number! It was hard for me to see! I'll do some more research on it.

check out this site...everything you ever dreamed of knowing about the q-jet...:waytogo::waytogo:

all part of the service...:pimp:

17082=1982, 2=federal emissions, 1=Chevy,
3= standard shift but not always. If u need the kickdown
For the trans make sure it has the correct linkage.

Going to be swapping my edelbrock for this carb +$75 from him tomorrow! :woot: I have wanted to swap this edelbrock for a quadrajet since i got this truck years ago!

Don't listen to these guys. Touch the air door screw so you CANNOT tell when the secondary open. If it goes woop bawwwww. It is opening too fast it should have no "kick in". Buy a qjet book with tuning help and read all of it. Chassis dyno is even better if the guys have qjet experience to get the primary depth and size size right.

Got this book coming!
