Well guys,

it's time to get the truck moving again!

I'm gonna dress my old 82 block up and drive it till it's dead, by then I should have the funds to get me a p400.

Basically this means that I'm gonna dress my red block up like it was the P400:

I have,

- Turbo exhaust mainfolds new
- Turbo intake new

I need,

- a matching TQ for my TH700.
- Turbocharger, GM 8
- Crossover pipe
- Exhaust, 4'' stainless
- a number of small parts (CDR Valve, oil feed for Turbocharger)

As for the cooling/serpentine belt.

If I got me a serp belt setup and a high flow WP, would this fit on my old 6,2?

The plans are, to get rid of the oil leaks of the 82 6.2 and get me everything I need that can be bolted on an optimizer or p400 later on.
What do you think?

Greetings

Flo:rolleyes:

That's the exhaust that I want to run on my K5

If you got 6.5 manifolds the driver side will not work with a stock or aftermarket crossover. The frame rails are to tight on the older rigs. Also that exhaust will not work without major work to the down pipe. You can. Modify the rest to fit but the down pipe will most likey have to be run out side the frame if your useing a stock 6.5 passenger exhuast/turbo mount manifold. This can also cause clearence issues with the ac housing if your rig has ac. Simple fix would be to run the banks manifolds. Even that will cause you to modify the down pipe to fit the rest of the 4 inch exhaust.

I ran the stock 6.5 turbo manifolds on my '82 one ton, I don't know if the frame width is different but I don't see why they would be.

6.5 serpentine belt setup will work on the 6.2 blocks, just make sure you get the correct backing plate for the reverse rotation water pump.

Stock crossover pipes will hit the front driveshaft on our trucks, get one custom made or buy mine ;) Probably cheaper to get one custom made than shipping one from here.

Keep truckin'!!

The way it looks in mine the flange to mount the cross over pipe is in the frame so you won't be able to mount it. The 6.2 drops down infront of the last exhaust port alowing clearence. I could be wrong as I have only had mine in for ten minutes or so then came back out.

Update:

got db4911 matching injector lines, a new GM Ac Delco starter (Nos) for $60 (!), a high flow waterpump (steal! $ 40) and some hardware. Searching for stuff & using the specific part number is always a lot of fun, some sellers do not know which parts the are selling, I spent about $100 for parts that would have cost $450 :D

@wrench:
got my pm? I'm highly interested in your crossoverpipe!:D
