Hello everyone. I am finishing up on swapping out my TBI 350 for a TBI 454 in my K5, and I have run into an issue I have been unable to fix. I am not getting any fuel from my TB. If I poor fuel into the TB, the engine will attempt to start, but other than that, I get nothing. I have checked everything I could think of, and still no results. Here is what I’ve done thus far and what I know to be working. I have checked all fuses and relays that I could find and everything was good. The fuel pump is new and comes on when I turn the ignition. I unscrewed the fuel line after the filter to check fuel flow, and when the ignition was turned on the fuel appeared to flow fine. However, when I undid the lines at the throttle body there was no fuel at all. I blew air through the line and there was no blockage. I checked for power to the injectors and everything seemed fine there as well. My distributor and ignition module are fairly new so I don’t think they are causing my problems. My fuel pump relay is also working properly and my coolant sensor is good. I also went through the engine bay with a light tester and could not find anything not getting power. Here is a little more back ground info on my engine also. It did not come from a TBI equipped truck, but I have managed to swap everything from the 350 to the 454, minus the egr and oil pressure sensor. I had it built to be TBI and computer friendly. I have a high flow TB from R.V. Morris Machine and a custom chip from TBI Chips. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at a loss. Thanks in advance.

Well if you have no fuel at the TB then your problem is between the filter and the tb in the lines. if your sure its not blocked than its your pump. Sounds like its loosing steam when it goes to come up the firewall. I used to work at advance and duds happen all the time. Try hooking up a pull through external pump to your fuel line and see if it fires up then return it :D

Have you used a NOID light to check for injector wiring working? If the pump primes when the key is turned on, and the fuel pump relay is good, the only thing left is the signal from the ECM to fire the injectors and that signal comes from the ignition module.

No Fuel

No, I have not used a NOID light, just a light tester. With the light tester I got one fuel injector wire HOT in run and both HOT with the engine cranking. I will have to get NOID light and try that. I tried two different relays and they both acted the same. With the ignition turned on the fuel pump would prime then you would here the relay click and the pump would stop. I also tried another module with no results. It was an old module though. I am starting to wonder if the pump is coming back on when the engine is being cranked. I will keep checking and thanks for the help.

Only one wire to each injector should have battery voltage and the other is ground back to the ECM.

I double checked the wires going to the fuel injectors and they are all hot in both run and will cranking the engine. Does this mean that they are not grounded? If so, where would I find the ground wire to double check?
