Need some help, so I got a new motor for my 8274 along with a new splined pinion gear for the clutch assembly. I know the top 3 terminals are for hooking up to the solenoid assembly

And that the bottom terminal is for the ground, but what in the world are the two wires sticking out for?

I don't recall having those two wires. I'll double check if i work on the jeep tonight.

You have yourself a universal winch motor. If your original 8274 motor did not have those wires, cut them off and hit shrink cover them closed.

If I remember right, those wires went to some kind of overheat sensor. Some winches had a system that shut down the motor if it got too hot.
So, if you don't have that, just cut'em.
