Hi guys,

I need your
icon_sign_help.gif

My D60 spindle stud lock washers and nuts are looking pretty ragged and tired. I've tried to clean them up, but they just need to be retired. I have the Spicer part numbers, GM part numbers, but neither cross over to Dorman. I can't find Dorman's web-site to do this either. Does anyone know the Dorman part numbers?

Spicer 36880 Brake Mounting Nut
GM 14009617 Washer
GM 1/2 x 20 No part number listed

I went to www.partsmike.com, but I don't need to buy the studs, just the washers and nuts. He doesn't sell separately. I'm hitting all the D60 rebuild shops, but coming up with nothing.

Thanks for any assistance you might be able to give.

HaHa,

Joke's on you Junior. It's not the spindle nuts I'm after. Google does the same thing. What I am after are the washers' and nuts' that tighten down the spindle and caliper bracket to the knuckle itself. I know the set you're talking about, but that is for securing the wheel hub to the spindle. I am prolly gonna hafta go to the autoparts store and bring in samples to pick-n-play.

Thanks for answering!

Go to the local hardware store and buy grade 8 nuts that are the crimp type nuts. That is what GM used and along with a new lock washer and you're all set.

Too easy, huh? Thanks!

I got my spindle bolts from 4 wheel parts, along with pretty much all the other rebuild parts for my 60. I had them pull the exploded diagram and I just picked what I needed.

I have a coffee can full of the GM spindle nuts/hard washers, they are used but not junk.I dont think I threw them out!
If you want a dozen of each I will sort thru them and send them to ya!.....Free
