Need help with swaybar!Please

Ok first i just want to say this is one of the best sites on the internet.Now heres the problem i had a 1977 blazer body was rotted all to hell but everything else was good.I ran into a stripped 1990 blazer so i had a plan i took every thing off of the 1977 blazer and put it on the 1990 blazer.Its has the 12 bolt rearend and the 10 bolt frontend from my 1977 blazer.The problem is i cant get the swaybar to bolt to the crossmember under the engine it comes up to short if the swaybar was like maybe 3 or 4 inchs longer it would work.I believe it is the 1 and 1 8th diameter swaybar on there now .It has a 6 inch superlift suspension on it also.Please help my blazer is almost done and this is really the only problem that has stumped me.

Anything over about 4" of lift and you'll need to get some spacers for the frame mounts. All the major lift companies sell them, they'll just need to know how much lift you have. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
 
Ditch the sway bar and go with some better shocks, your springs arent going to flex that much anyway, i run BDS wich are quite a bit softer, and some good shocks(bilstien 5150) and i have less sway than i did with my sway bar

DITTO!!

I haven't run a sway bar on a lifted vehicle in years.
 
I always tell people, take it off and drive for a week, see how you like it.

I've yet to have anyone (including myself) put one back on.
 
I ditched my sway bar and have been happier for it. You wont miss it. Good luck. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
 
I made spacer out of some 1x2 square stock drilled the holes in them and inserted my stock lug nut in the tube for support, Why would you want to remove the sway bar doesnt it have a purpose?

For better flex off road . My driver runs disconnects . I need to run mine on the street because I don't like the way my 4 inch lifted brick feels in AZ duststorms when the wind really blows /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Mine didn't seem to have any purpose other than adding 23 lbs of dead weight to my truck.

True and the discos will help with algment issues caused by the lift as they sit 2 or 3 inches above the spring plate. Cheap and easy to fit. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
 
oh, i almost forgot. i have the brand new swaybar spacers and hardware that came with my Tuff Country lift. they sell for 27 plus shipping. you can have em for 20 shipped if you want.

I'd really like to have mine back.....maybe one on the rear too!

People who have followed behind me on the roads say that my truck looks downright SCARY going around corners, even at moderate speeds.

The softer the springs, the more you'd really like to have swaybars again.
