I have an '81 Blazer with 5.7L 350 and my Coolant/water is running/leaking down my passenger side floorboard from the firewall (inside cab) and from the engine compartment it looks like it's leaking from somewhere under my A/C unit which is installed but not wired up so I'm not using it.....what the heck is going on?? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jeff

Sounds like you get to replace the heater core! There is a write-up on how to do it and what it involves on the home page I believe. Here is the link http://coloradok5.com/heatercore.shtml

believe me Burt4x4, I really wanted to go but unfortunately had some other stuff that I had to take care of :-(
Hey, another quick question.....if my heater and A/C are not currently wired up is it safe/ok and is there even a way to bypass the heater core until I can get a chance to replace it?
it's my daily driver and I wouldn't be able to fix it until probably
this Sunday.....thanks for the help in determining the problem and thanks in advance for any advice/ideas about bypassing it.

I have never done it but I would assume you could take the heater hoses and connect the heater inlet to the heater out let so that the fluid doesn't pass thru your core were the leak is.
Again I have never done this so just guessing.........

You can safely by-pass the heater core...its pretty self explanatory and will buy you some time til you can replace the core itself.

yep have two of my trucks bypassed until the winter...pretty simple just look at it and make sure water is still making a complete flow through the manifold and radiator
