The cucv I bought only has a couple more days here and I am pulling the break components off for the k5, so far i have the break pedal steering box, steering pump with pulley, master cyclinder(and everything else from the firewall) to the porportioning valve, is there anything else i need to do the swap? Will the master hydro whatever bolt right up to my firwall or do i need to pull the plate off the cucv firwall? And any advice would be great because once agian I am doing something I have no idea how to do. TIA

if you undo the 6 bolts holding it on, the same 6 bolts that hold the vac booster on, then it will bolt right up.

Now for some questions, I pulled the steering box but after looking at the two of them they look the same, is that true? And finally I think I have to swap the steering pumps, is that true? and if so how do I do that? Thanks

I think they only difference between the boxes is the thread for the fittings and or how they seal. Some of the boxes seal with an oring on the line and some use an inverted flare.

The pump will have another plug on it for the return on from the second hydro device on it.

When I did my swap I pulled everything that was attached under the hood. Pump, box, master, and the booster itself.

and the hits keep coming-
Will the steering pump from a 6.2 be able to be used on a 5.7? And is it just pulling the pulley from the 6.2 pump and installing the pulley from the 5.7 onto the 6.2 pump :dunno:

Now that I dont know for sure. How GM is, Im sure they are the same. If not you should beable to get one from a parts house.

what are you doing there buddy? DOnt tell me your gonna scrap the 6.2!!!!Keep it for me. ;)

Paul, I use the pump from the 6.2 but had use and modify the bracket from the 350. On my paw inlaws we just used the pump and bracket from the 350 and use a "t" on the low pressure side.

Dude your in San Diego and they are HEAVY, but no pics the camera died.

yea it would be about 110 bucks for shipping i think .. but jcwhitney want 260 without bushings i think
