Brothers:

Every year, Kim and I donate $1 from every Rigs of CK5 calendar sold to a charity or special cause. For example, last year we donated the money to Cancer research in memory of Shewheeler, who lost her battle against the dreaded disease.

This year, I'm looking for some sort of concensus from the Brotherhood as to where the Rigs calendar donation should go. Please feel free to make a suggestion!!! :waytogo:

Any reason not to donate to the same place as last year?? seems like a good cause.

Lone Survivor Foundation and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation are at the top of my list and are donated to whenever I can.

Blue ribbon coalition in the name of jason payne "wilyswanter" & noel chadbourne "Dozer"

All charities are worthy! St. Judes Children's Hospital happens to hold a spot in my heart!:waytogo:

All of the above suggestions are great. However, we need to come to some sort of concensus- remember, Kim and I are donating on the Brotherhood's behalf!!!! :deal:

I thought of doing a poll, but I'd rather avoid that, because I want to base this on the input of those CK5ers who are actually buying calendars........

To make it easy could you have everyone who buys a calendar put it in the notes form paypal, then tally at the end?

Really any worthy cause it well worth it, I know that for me any charity is perfect and its great that you are making the donation!

How much of the donation to those places goes to keeping the payrolls of those in charge of the foundations? Kind of like donating to the Susan G Komen (sp) who then gives hundreds of thousands of dollars to Planed Parenthood whose real name should be "subsidized abortion clinic".

I will end with the rant but that is my thought.

I don't support the Wounded Warrior foundation since I don't agree with their monetary policies. The upper level managers of the Wounded Warrior Project, a "non-profit" each take in hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.

On the other hand I found the "Workshops for Warriors" who I fully support.

I have donated a few welders and a car to them.
The welders were used to teach and certify veterans as welders.
The car was used as a teaching aid for automotive repair and ASE certification for veterans.

All at no cost to the vets.

I also have volunteered hundreds of hours, and have a blast doing it.
