Need ideas for our Rigs of CK5 calendar donation

I don't support the Wounded Warrior foundation since I don't agree with their monetary policies. The upper level managers of the Wounded Warrior Project, a "non-profit" each take in hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.

On the other hand I found the "Workshops for Warriors" who I fully support.

I have donated a few welders and a car to them.
The welders were used to teach and certify veterans as welders.
The car was used as a teaching aid for automotive repair and ASE certification for veterans.

All at no cost to the vets.

I also have volunteered hundreds of hours, and have a blast doing it.

:waytogo: I think this is a good one.

I know I already posted St Jude's but I'd be good with either of these suggestions.

My thought is just to donate it directly to a member. I could think of a few that could use the help.

With respect to giving it one or some of our own members... Without getting into specific numbers, is the donation an amount best suited for a single family or possibly 2 or more?

While most of the organized charities are worthy maybe supporting our own members might have a greater / more positive impact.

edit: this might also be done privately on behalf of the CK5 "family" so that the CanCan family and/or Steve Fox are the only folks that know who the recipient(s) are. This could prevent any questioning of who needs it more, etc..

We need to come to some sort of concensus or I will have to make a decision- if it's left in my hands the donation will be sent to Kids Cancer Care or the Make a Wish Foundation or something safe like that........:deal:
