What info do any of you or someone you know about the 2001 Ford F-250 V10 4x4? Looking at an ext cab with leather and like brand new interior. The body is almost great, couple of dings and paint has some scratches. Rhino lined long bed, tow package. New tires and runs excellent. 150,000 miles. Drove it tonight, liked it. Going back tomorrow to look at it in detail then off to put it on a computer.

Its gas, and I know its going to be a pig and that I could do so much more with a diesel, so please don't go there right now. If I don't get this one then I'll start looking for a diesel.

$10,500

Spill your guts about reliability.

Thanks, George

I can't offer you any info on the turd V10 but 150k on a gas v10 sounds high to me. Just to give you an idea I have 03 3/4 ton Hemi 4X4 four door. I get about 8 towing the K5 and 13 around town. Fuel mileage blows on it. It dows tow great though.

DONT DO IT!!! Not just for the fact thats its a gasser but those V10 suck on gas mileage plus are very under powered for towing. We have a bunch of them for work trucks and I cant say one good thing about them. Plus all of our work trucks have been in the shop so many times I stopped counting and at 150,000 miles that thing has gotta be close to needing a new engine:eek1:. I know you said dont go there but wait and buy a diesel:D, I drive a 99 f350 crewcab 4x4 and love it, its a night and day difference over the gassers I drive at work.

I'd pass on that. With that kind of mileage, I sure that 6.8 is getting tired.

I had a '02 cc 4x4 F350 with the 6.8 v10 for awhile. Got it with 44K on it in like new condition for $20,000. Got rid of it with 91k. Even though it was extremely reliable, it was a gutless gas guzzling pig. I'm so glad I kept my old '97 F250hd with the 7.3

One of our shop trucks is an '01 F-250 4x4 crew cab short box with the 6.8 V-10. I drove it quite a bit when working down at Boeing on an installation. It truly is a gutless wonder. I was thoroughly underwhelmed by the power, and the fuel mileage was consistanly horrible. It supposedly has under 85,000 miles on it...

Within 4 months of buying it the tranny packed it in...

Overall i think it's a pile of crap.

Drove the inlaws 2001 f250 with the v-10 years ago.. with 60,000 miles on it then.. hated it... my focus has more spunk...

Barely pulled the horse trailer for them...
