I'm ready to get the A/C reinstalled on my '69. It's a A/C cab, and I think all truck side air stuff is there. Unfortunately, I'm not sure. The truck has a swapped in 454 and I have a set of brackets to mount the compressor. But there are from a different truck and I don't know if they will work with what I have. I'm not sure if it's even worth trying to make the old stuff work together with the newer stuff, but it's probably worth a try.

So if you've got any tips let me know, and of course pictures are worth a 1000 words. I really don't want to go through another summer with the truck parked because its too hot to be fun to drive. Thanks for any help.

I don't have any pictures, but they mount to the cylinder head. Does your cylinder head have the mounting holes?

Yes, it's got the the threaded holes in the heads. I'll have to see if the brackets I have line up with the holes.

Jim have you considered serpentine?

I have my 76 454 that is all original stuff still I can get some reference pics possibly.

I would look into a bracket system that lets you use a Sanden, or Sanden style pump. I wouldn't bother with the old A6 hot dog pump like is what is on my K30/454. They were meant for R12's lower high side pressures and they don't like 250+psi that R134 can get up to on hot days with a fully charged system. The front seal takes a beating at those pressures and before you know it you are losing freon.

That might be a good idea to go with a new style pump and serpentine all at once. I already swapped over to a newer style CS alternator. I should be able to just put a serp pulley onto that.

If your alternator is on the passenger side, I would use the 1995-1999 brackets. clean setup, no smog pump bracket, AC pump is 4 bolts on a flat surface. Uses the newer version of the A6 on drivers side. A lot of these setups have 140 amp alternators.
