ok here is my problem. i just bought a 1991 k5 the title is in the local fire department name it is the original mso i quess thats what the ladie told me a d.m.v so i take it it was never registered because it is a state truck. so i called up the local fire chief and ask him for some help and he basically told me to go pound salt. so my question is what to do.

If the fire dept was administered by the city, the city cansign the title. If it was county controlled, then county signs the title.

You just need to do a little digging. City hall/office should be able to point you in the right direction.

City/County hall, which ever name's on the title. You should have received some paperwork giving you full power and rights over the vehicle. If not, contact the purchasing department or finance department for the City or County.

Also, contact the auction company (assuming that's where it was purchased), may have been an oversite. They should have had the documents allowing the sale and x-fer of title.
