Need some diesel swap opinions.

IIRC...the 47RE needs throttle position, engine rpm, temperature, and output speed for the factory computer to work.
 
Well, looks like I’m the idiot who gives poor advice:eek: I always thought the 4l80e was fairly strong.
 
They are strong stock compared to a stock 4l60. Same way a stock th400 is strong compared to a th350. Bit none of those have ever been in front of a modern diesel capable of 8-900 ft lbs with just a tune.

The 47re is a terd burglar, but at least it was designed (poorly) to function with the Cummins. If you’ve already upgraded it I can’t believe we even needed a thread to discuss putting in a worse trans. You’re clearly capable enough to do it the right way with the harness.

47 is the way to go here.
