I have the 1902 on my truck been a great carb for me. Where did you find a 1904 ? is new ? Edelbrock quit making them awhile back.
A Q jet will never give more cfm than the engine can use. Might have to tune the jets and rods for engine. I tried a few changes, and I've fiddled with numerous times, always end up putting back together the way it came.
I think the difference is an electric choke

Yeah I thought that one was the electric choke, they made 4 ver 1901 through 1904, I don't recall if they made any for Olds Pontiac Buick crowd

I got a 1904 Edelbrock Qjet on it’s way

Should I leave it alone or should I jet it a certain way before installing? Also, what’s a good quarter jet intake manifold thank you

I think any of the offerings fro Edlebrock Holley Weiand will do just fine a nice dual plane to keep the low rpm torque curve

Pretty disappointed that I ordered this carb, it didn’t come like the picture with the Edelbrock tags on it.

It has 17061829 stamped in a circle above the rear baseplate main vacuum port.

It has 17063918 stamped in a circle on the top of the front carb area, in front of the primaries.

It has 17077554 stamped on the backside of the baseplate

Has a Uremco “12-11-23” Remanufactured sticker with 1904 on the sticker.

Not sure what to do with it.

You bought a reman carb on eBay, you got a reman carb from eBay. I don’t see how an edlebrock tag would make it any better or worse? Most likely they took the best parts of different 1904s to make one good reman unit.

ok but is this the RIGHT carb? Im not sure, I was under the impression I wanted an m4me carb?

picture of carb. 1 of bowl to air horn mating from front, and one of stamped number on driver side of secondary venturi. The bowl number is the most important.

Well, it looks very good! Depending on price and what they have for warranty, I would try it.

Keep this intake manifold or get a different? Maybe Weiand 8000 or Edelbrock EPS?

the numbers on the secondary are not GM numbers I do believe that is it an Edelbrock mfr carb. I esp like it still has the bronze coating on the body parts.

If not to much trouble I'd like to see the from straight at the front, the seam from bowl to air horn.
