I bet you could easily fab a table and brace to make that work as a vertical saw too:thinking:

 just here to put thoughts in your head:D

Freakin sexy as hell! Stoked for your final choice brother. You won't regret it. I WANT ONE! I WANT ONE! I WANT ONE!!!! :thumb: :saweet::saweet::saweet:

:grind::weld:will be much easier and more fun again. Just walk over to your NEW, BAD ASS band saw and cut a clean straight line or cut a tube nice and square or at a perfect 45. NICE!! I freakin love machine tools. SO awesome. :D

it has a vertical table, I just didn't install it for the pic... it's like 12" x 12".....

thanks guys.... stoked... :woot:

Looks awesome man! I'd love to have something other than my 4" angle grinder to cut stuff with.

the vertical aspect is just a huge bonus.... the horo is what I really wanted/needed, but I have a suspicion the vertical is gonna prove itself to be quite handy.... fishmouths, etc...

here's the coolant system...

here's a link to it... http://www.grizzly.com/products/7-x-12-Metal-Cutting-Bandsaw/G0561

definitely seems like a quality tool, heavy as he!!...

Awesome :thumb:

Aside from a few minor things, that is exactly like my 7 x 12 Jet. You're gonna love that saw.

Do you have a source for new blades for that? I have no idea what TPI or quality blade they put on there, but sooner or later you will need a new blade.

Grizzly has a bunch of different blades for it, rakers and bi-metals... the bi-metals are $50.. I assume that's whats on it.. it's pretty aggressive looking.. i'll count the TPI tomorrow..

i'll see how it holds up, if it does well, i'll try another grizzly..

I really like that the 7 x 12's step up to a 3/4" blade...
just looks way beefier than the smaller saws 1/2" blades..

Yeah the 3/4" blade tends to stay straight better than the 1/2" blades.
Wow, Grizzly wants $50 for their blades? I think I pay $35 plus shipping for mine. The last one I bought has been on there for probably a year.

This is where I get my blades

Of course it is clear across the country for you, but......

Don't overlook "running in" the blade. A properly run in blade will outlast one that hasn't been run in by a factor of 5-10. A nice big piece of solid, set the 'drop' as slow as it'll go and check back in an hour. Sure seems like a waste of time when you're doing it, but once that's done you'll have a blade that'll cut truer and last a hell of a long time. I prefer something without corners, ideally 2" solid round, or bigger.

FWIW, I have a similar table that came on my little 4x6 grizzly. Used it a couple of times and haven't used it since. It's easy enough to just use the little flat piece that you remove to bolt on the table and just cut. The saw cutting helps hold it tight to the plate. Saves the time putting it on and removing it and I've cut some pretty good sized pieces on it. YMMV.

I usually just sit on the saw where the vice is.

thanks.... I can see myself slapping the 2 screws in being a leisurely hobby saw... but I doubt I'll ever be using the bolt-in bracket (the third hole in it)...

how has your saw held up?

I've been pretty happy with the combo disc/belt sander I have from Grizzly... picked it up very lightly used for $50... been invaluable, and I beat the snot out of that thing and it works like new...
