UPDATED - SEE POST 8.

Can anyone get me some pics and info on the factory/dealer rear roll bars that the half cab K5's got?

The ones that were in the very back.

Going to start looking for them. There's enough rotted K5's around here that SOMEONE might have one sitting around.

How do they attach to the truck?
What parts would you need to have a "complete" set up?

NB: Not my truck. It belongs to a member here but is materially different as of late; this was maybe ten years ago.

Believe it just bolts through the sheetmetal, so you'd want reallly big fender washers on the underside, or make you some plates to match (preferred). Aifink all you need is the assembly itself; the hardware you could get @ e.g. Ace.

Cool.

Does it interfere with the stock tire carrier?

Duh... I'd *guess* not, but I don't have anything in front of me to compare, sorry.

Be easy enough to bootyfab the stock carrier to fit if it doesn't.

Cool, thanks.

What's the going rate on these things? Anybody bought one lately? Saw a full vert one going for less than $150 a while back.

I paid $100 some years ago. The rears are the same for 73-91; just make sure it's not a 74-75 front, which look similar, but have a rectangular metal tang on them that bolts to the door jamb.

So I may have a line on one of these. Bit of a drive though.

Can anyone tell me what this whole assembly consists of? As in what parts. I'm assuming the bar and some hardware with maybe plates to go on the bottom?

Does this bolt right in or is there drilling involved?

Anybody know the dimensions and weight?

You will need to drill holes in the floor and wheel well to bolt it in. You can get the harware at any of your local hardware stores or tractor supply stores. I would definately make some full size square plates for the underside of the sheetmetal. The stock tire carrier can't be used without some form of modification as the bar going to the wheel well is in the way. If you make some form of modification it will push the spare tire way into the cargo area and eat up alot of space.

Have to extend it out past the cage probably?

Any idea on the dimensions/weight?

Thanks and yes, of the roll bar. 3 hour trip each way so would like to figure out which vehicle I'll need to go get it. 22mpg freeway beats 14mpg freeway all day long.

The bar at it's widest point is 65" and height is 42" and the wheel well legs are 21". I would guesstimate the weight around 25-30 lbs.

Can probably get that on the Tracker's roof rack...might just be doable.

Thanks man.

Oh, does the top need to be off to install this thing?

I haven't gotten around to installing mine yet but I don't see any reason why the top would have to come off.

Just kind of wondering about the geometry of getting it in there.

For reference, when I picked up my roll bar I put it in the back of my rig with the top on so it should be doable.

To bad you're not closer, I've got one of those roll bars I'm going to sell.

For the record, these used matching plates on the underside of the floor.

If you can get pictures of the plates I'd love to have them.
