Need some info about a factory rear roll bar for a half cab K5

See, that's why I miss my Amigo -- it was a cute ute, sure, but especially with the soft-top (and its removable rear window), I could carry tall/long/stupid shaped cargo easily.

Still, with its V6 I think it was closer to the Blazer than the Tracker ... though I never used the phrase "illegitimate Asian war child" I always thought of the Amigo as a sort of mini-Japanese Blazer, Isuzu being partnered with GM and cross-selling various vehicles over the years.

Suzuki was majority owned by GM from the 80's until their recent money issues. Held it long enough to ruin their car line up and sissify their SUV's.

I've had good luck wedging parts and general crap in the inside of these 4 door Trackers/Vitaras/Grand Vitaras. You can fit an entire Geo Tracker hood, two doors, and a 2 door back seat in the back of a 4 door with the rear seat folded down.

However 65"x42" just isn't going to do it. I'd be wearing one of the legs around my neck.

Here are the pics, my roll bar only has one under plate. It is a little bigger that the foot plate. I also took a pic of the whole bar for giggles to give you a feel for it's overall size.

I'd bet there was one on all four. I bought it used online somewhere years ago so I can't remember if it came with all 4 or not.

Could definitely make some nice big plates for the bottom.

I just chuckled when the under-hood parts identifier code for the limited slip in the Amigo ... was G80 (Rear Dana 44, as I recall.)

On the other hand, I did get a pair of 10' 2x6's into the Altima... even closed the trunk. It's a hell of a lot more comfortable, doesn't smell like wet dog, AND it gets 30MPG.

Never did figure out why the Amigo smelled like wet dog -- I have no dogs, wet or dry, nor ever toted any in that truck...

Anyway, on topic, you may find that flat plates don't fit so well under the corrugated (for lack of a better word) rear. I using 1/4" plate, then spot-welding like 3/16"-ish strap to fit into the ridges, if that make sense.

Otherwise when you tighten the bolts, you end up just collapsing the ridges.

AJM you PM'd me today but I have nothing to add that isn't already here. A friend gave me the one I have and I brought it home while I still had a pickup truck. And I installed it a few days after the top came off last spring. My truck was not equipped with the interior spare tire carrier, it had (removed long before the truck was mine) the external tailgate tire carrier so I have nothing to offer there. I'm not utilizing any under floor plates but I also don't expect to rely on that bar in a roll over. Nor do I expect to put my truck in a position to roll over. I mainly installed it for the "cool OEM accessory" look. Speaking of which, when you get it installed and have the top off, expect to get strange looks and dumb questions from the uninformed masses. It's cool to us cause we know what it is, to everyone else it looks like a pickup roll bar installed backwards. Matter of fact someone said that to me again today. Random dude stops me in a parking lot "Aw, that thing is cool. I used to have one like that a long time ago. Is that a pickup roll bar back there?"

Now you got me thinking ... a TOW launcher would be kinda cool on my Blazer, but I'd rather a fire-n-forget projectile, ideally one with a stupid-driver seeker in the head

So do these look like the correct plates for the rear feet of the roll bars?

Guy I'm talking to said he got this on a new '78 K5 and when he sold it two decades ago took the bar out. Can't quite remember some of the details of it.

Now, if you were going to make an offer on this, and the seller seemed honest and up front but also had no real use for it anymore...and you have a 3 hour drive each way...what would you say?
Thinking $75 since it's not pristine. The drive would just be fun and I'd love to have it..
