Hey Guys,

Long story short, I was in an accident recently and my poor truck can no longer move on its own. The front passenger tire is stuffed into the fender. It looks like the centering pin was sheared off and the axle slid back on the leaf several inches. Because of my HOA, I need to move the truck ASAP. I don't know allot about suspension. Can I simply jack it up, loosen the two u bolts holding the axle on the leaf, slide the axle forward, re tighten the ubolts, and drive it the 20 feet to my garage?

I'd say for a 20 foot move sure...

Might be easier to stick a floor jack under that corner and have someone very gently drive the truck forward while someone steers the jack. Unless it's in grass or gravel.

For a move that short, shouldnt' be a problem at all, as long as you are in 2wd.

another option is call a tow truck. shouldnt cost much.. I would do it for 20 bucks, but thats me... If you have AAA roadside, call them and tell them you broke down, and leave it at that.

When we had a car with a tire stuffed into a wheel well that wouldn't turn after a wreck,we just took the tire off,and put just a bare rim on it,and drove it!--it was OK to get it into the shop so we could tear it apart and fix it!..you might be able to use the space saver spare too,it might allow enough clearance..
