I've never torn into a differential before. What is required to install different gears?

I have 4.10 gears now and bought 3.73 gears and a rebuild kit.

What does it take to do the swap?

What would it cost to have the swap done?

Does anybody want to do a swap? My 4.10 geared rear end for your 3.73 rear end?

Or actually fronts and rears. I need both and if your swapping you probably do too.

The $300 a shop is gonna charge you, is waaaay more than worth it.
Just take it to a shop.

I re-geared my rear end, and it was a pita.

The local shop quoted me $480 to do the swap.

I would have gone for $300.

If I had a lift I wouldn't be so hesitant on doing it myself.

I have potentially 3 vehicles to do.

I want 3.73's in the truck and 3.42's in the 98 K2500 Subruban And 95 6.5 diesel 2 door Tahoe

The Suburban and Tahoe both have 3.73's now. It would be nice to find somebody wanting to do a complete swap on any of the vehicles.

Are there better places or forums to look for these parts?

I was hoping the parts would be easier to find.

Sorry to say I let a 14 bolt 3.73 go with my 1989 C2500 & sold another K3500 a couple of years ago.
