Need Your opinion on this k20 I'm lokking at. update!!

I'm gonna look for the trans cooler, and see whats there. I'm not touching these axles. I'm gonna end up goin with 1 tons by next summer. I just want the truck to last through the winter without any major repair. Thanks for the trans cooler link.

Sounds good! Yah, if that is your timeframe, i'd be stepping down to 35's too.

We want more pictures :waytogo:

Your new truck looks good, way to go man!

BTW I like your wifes thinking on the 38s,at least she likes big trucks. Thats cool!

Yea she likes the way the truck looks, but i'm trying to be logical about it.
She loves lifted trucks.

I'd just keep it out of OD until you get better gearing. I'm doing pretty much the same running 35's and 3.42's at the moment. The only time I use OD is dead flat highway...and even then it feels doggy.

Beautiful truck, I love that front end!

I had in drive on the highway, and it felt decent, but in the back of my mind i was wondering about the trans, so i put it in od.

I love the look of the front also, I never realized how badass they look

My wife just sent a pic of the truck.

Damn, sexy.

What would you call those colors?

I had some time after work yesterday to go over the truck. The only thing that i found was one of the leaf spring bolts is loose. I also found out how heavy that hood is. here some more pics

My daughter is giving her aproval. I think she likes it!

That steering column is wrong for 1980, no wipers mounted on the column in that year. Aside from that, and the wrong 1980 grill (IMHO) it looks to be a very clean and nice truck.

I think they did the drivetrain swap, and they did the column all out of the same donor truck. Frame up its an 80. I think everything else is out of an 86 or 87 truck. I inspected everything and they did a celan job swaping evrything.

From that pic, I see you're a lot shorter than the average Chevy owner. How do you get up? A little ladder? :D :waytogo:

Beautiful truck man!

My first truck was an 80, and that was basically exactly what I wanted it to be when I was done. I had it swapped to K25 from a C25, had my diesel engine / 5 speed / NP241 in it, geared properly and all the optioned I wanted installed, but couldn't afford to do the body work on it. Had to part it out to pay for school, and I doubt I'll ever find another like it to build up.

79/80's are my Favorite !

A close second and third would be 73-74 and 89-91 4 headlight.

Nice truck, I like it better than the Black K30
