NEEDED : sm465 from a 208 equipped truck

Must be functional, preferably rebuilt

my buddy has one. i'm not sure what the input spline count is though. would be pricey to ship.

I don't believe the SM465 came with a 32 spline input(clutch side), they were all 10 spline input.
The 85-up SM465's had a long 32 spline output shaft, however. There's a pic in this thread;

and yes, the 32 spline SM465's had 208/241, and even 205's behind them.

I thought I remember reading that the clutch side changed also. If not I turned down a rebuilt local trans for $100, better facking call that kid. ****....

As Jimbo* stated , all SM465's have a 10 spline input shaft , the output shaft is what changed , from 10 spline to 32 spline.

Ok so if my truck came with one in 87 then I need a long shaft 32 spline OUTPUT correct?

Correct ,the stock tranny (SM465) would be one with a 32 spline output.
As long as the SM465 had a NP208 or a NP241 behind it ,or if it was from an 86-91 one ton with a NP205 , it will have a 32 spline output.
