Hey fellas, I was fiddling around with the Jimmy project earlier and just figured out that the cross member laying in the back of my Jimmy wasn't for mine. Looks like its a flat one made for a 2wd truck or something, and I can probably make it work since I won't be running a driveshaft for a while, but in the grand scheme I'd like to find one of the W cross members to go Under the 4l60E/NP208 going behind the LS swap. Anyone who may have a spare one they want to part with please go ahead and PM me or respond here and let me know what you are wanting for it.

Think I still have my old one laying around, off a 89 with 700/241 but looks just like the bottom one. When I get in from offshore on monday I'll look for it.

Found something to buy right outside of DFW so go ahead and call off the hounds.

Thanks everyone who posted already.

After reading your title I have another question for you. If you are running a 4l60e with a np208, how do you plan on running the electronic speed sensor thats required for the 60e? Plan on using the advanced adapters kit?

I am going to use the inline converter from Dakota Digital (I think it is part # SEN-01-4160) and its around 50 bucks or so. It has a pass through VSS sensor so you can provide input back to the LS ECM and then still have a mechanical output for the speedo. My unit is an 85 with the mechanical drive of course but I am doing an LS swap so I will definitely need the input VSS so the ECM can tell the trans when to shift and all the other stuff it needs to do. Also, at some point, I am going to swap in a gauge setup that includes a GPS speedo. It's a little more when you purchase the gauge but it offsets screwing around with adjusting for tire size and gear changes later down the road. Having the mechanical drive will be passable for the time but I know already, even with just 33 inch tires and 3.07 gears its going to be way off so until I get the replacement gauges installed in the bezel I'm just going to stick a old Android phone on the dash for a GPS speedo. I'll probably use it to run my music and stuff through a head unit as well. It's the old Motorla Droid so I actually have one of those little Vehicle docks that allows it to have a Car/Auto mode when you plug it in and i will just set it to use my company iphone as a wifi hot spot... :)

Until the next roadblock at least. I feel like I am building a brick wall from the top down with this thing some days. I do believe though that I have the last bit of the previous owners ass-hattery removed from the equation. I am thinking I may need to sneak in a rebuild of the transfer case but I'll probably just pick up a second one for spare change and learn how to rebuild it on my own time, then swap them and rebuild the pulled unit and sell it for a marked up price. For now I just want to get it in place so I can do drive shafts and have all that stuff paid for.
