Nevermind

I'll try to get the numbers today, need to go up there anyways. Hopefully the rain will hold out long enough.

I thought about keeping it and building a monster out of it. But any money I put into it, I could put in the Cummins and embarrass any big block....Besides, just one more project and a way to spend more money that I don't have. I want to get other things done....

well I've been running some scenarios with the parts I've got. and depending on what block casting that engine actually is. I might have a winning combo.

I was up there half the day, and to be honest I forgot about it. But I'm going there again in the morning, I'll to again.

What info are you looking for, off the casting number??

cause I'm roughly 3000 miles away, I want the casting block casting to try and see exactly what it is. and if we come right down to doing this thing, I need a visual verify that its actually 4 bolt mains. does it run good?

with potentially that block, and my crank and square port heads. I'll put a nice 511-ish BBC together. But I need to know exactly what you've got there. Bow tie block? Gen5 - Gen6? No guess work on a long distance deal, you know what I mean.

Thanks

I understand completely, don't blame yah at all, I'd do the same thing. Being a 94 motor, it should be a Mark IV. I looked at a 95 454 the other day, it said Mark V on the pushrod guide plates.

I don't think they even made a tall deck that wasn't a 4 bolt main.....

Ya I'm not at all familiar enough with gasspots of that era to even know for sure. Thats why I need to verify. you might be right about talldecks. but I'd need to see.

Not sure if there is any interest in this or not still. I haven't had crap for time, but I have this Thursday and Friday off, game plan is to pull the 427 and drop in the 454. I can get pics, numbers, whatever if anyone needs them.

Work sucks. I don't have time to do SH!T. I'm starting to loose motivation on the truck, but don't want to get rid of it just yet either. Three day weekend coming up, depending on the weather, want to get some stuff done on it. No promises, but I'll try....my luck it will rain all friggin weekend....

Hope the deal worked out. . . But if it's still available, my 1990 TBI is now engine-less. In Orange County, so not all that far from Binghamton.

I think Demon was waiting for me to get the casting numbers. I haven't had any time to work on it. Bout the only thing I've done to it so far was move it out of it's hole to get rid of stuff behind it. I keep it at my mom's house, neighbor's said it's starting to look like a junkyard.

Only have to take the hood off and hook a chain to it, motor and tranny will come out as one. No wires or anything hooked up.

where you looking for a complete motor, or just a block/crank?? Local yard here has quite a few of the older two piece motors, and another yard bout hour away has same motors as this one.

I'm hoping to find a complete motor - I just moved up to NY to start a new job, so I'm not so familiar with junkyards or engine builders in the new area. Motor died on me 2 days after I got here - at least it didn't leave me stranded halfway.

I guess the good thing about a slow repair shop is that it's given me a few days to search on my own without storage fees.

Demon had dibs on it, just waiting on me. I can get more of these, but don't know the condition of them, that's why I was wondering what either of you were looking for....

I had this listed on craigslist months ago, had a email the other day about it. Now he isn't replying. Just want it gone, and need the money to get the truck going.

Trade for something. Could use some tires, 35" range. Got some of equal/close value worth trading??

Shoot. I'm out - found a 454 that goes in next week. Hope it finds a good home.
