Going to be nuts my 2024 has enough power what are they doing now?
Maybe for their topkick C&C stuff
It was for the 3/4 and up HD. Working theory on the tundra forum is they can drop boost and cylinder pressure down to help with emissions and have the emission system components last longer.
You heard it right the Mongoose is coming. I’m not privy to the hp/tq numbers but term that has been tossed around is the term “class leading”. There’s plenty of internet automotive reporters guessing all over the map but GM’s being tight lipped on all this new stuff.
Like we are prepping for our 5 city training tour and our deck on the HD’s has been absent of details on the powertrain on purpose. The tour starts next month, we’ve never been this close to the start and not had complete details in the presentation decks.
They will probably fill in those blanks this week for the tour decks but we’ve all been put on notice. Don’t be the leak. They will not hesitate to fire anyone. I’m dead serious as there are plenty of my coworkers that have been training longer than me that’s seen it happen. Plus I like my gig so even if I do know I can’t share.
The next big announcement is likely to drop at the Texas state fair coming up soon. Keep eyes peeled for sure.
Keen eyes will know GM killed the current 4500/5500 hds built in conjunction with International. But that don’t mean something isn’t coming in a different direction.
It’s getting exciting for sure. My dealer visits today had some pretty amped up staff that saw the video. Kudos to the petty engineer or marketing guy that coined it the mongoose to the fords scorpion.
Unofficially, I just hope the 10-speed got significantly beefed up to handle the new power. All the power in the world don’t mean squat if you can’t get it to the wheels. I can only assume they thought far enough ahead.
Only option available with the Mongoose is a manual
