1998 5.7 vortec. Nice running pickup. Cruise, ac, power windows and locks. I know, really not that special, just never owned a truck with that stuff.

I think this body style has a very clean look to it. I think that is what I like about them the most.

They just have a silly front axle and suspension system

That is really just meant as a temporary system until you can SAS it. I don't think that information was put out there very well and most people just drove them around as is.

The SAS is first on the list. The rear suspension will be addressed at the same time and fitting up one of our Backbone/wraptor systems.

The we'll turn our attention to the bumpers.

Perdy. I see it has the Z71 you must be serious in offroading...lol

That is gona get changed as well.

By the way, anybody know what the "71" is? 71 what? Or just a number pulled out out of the hat? Could just have easily been Z42?

The Z71 is actually just an option code. 4wd/tow pkg/whatever elese is encomassed with the Z71 pkg. Same for Z66,Z28,Z06,etc

Clean obs fer sure :waytogo:

Which reminds me, there is a few spots where rust is just beginning to take hold, so far very minor. Worst spot is behind the rear wheel drivers side. All of the spots are below the moulding.

I think I'll Scuff the paint and remove as much rust as possible and use a bedliner to prevent the rust from going septic on me. Basically just bedliner up to the moulding. Probably do it in black.

EDIT: there are a few other things that need just a little bit of TLC. The bed has a plastic bedliner. That's gotta go and intend to do some bedliner there as well. There was something on top of the bedrails at one point in time which has left quite a bit of scratching.

Drivers door seems like it could close a little tighter. May just be the strike pin out of adjustment.

Theres a trick to opening the tailgate. Again, just an adjustment.

Under the hood is super clean. I'll post up some pics of that in the next day or so.
