new blazer

well heres some updates, not as far as i would like but still progress.
got the front and rear spring packs torn apart and stripped of unneeded leafs. i got the front and rear spring hangers and shackle hangers as well as crossmembers installed. still need to box in some ends and add some gussets. and im going to taper in the hanges for less drag on the frame if i drag a rock or some junk. bedside is just clamped on, im planning on mounting body panels tomarrow.

heres the rear hanger, couldnt reuse the factory hangers because i i shortened the chassis cab frame so much that when i moved the springs forward to blazer wheelbase. the front of the rear springs now land almost inside the frame rails instead of outside.

so dont worry i will add tapered sliders for the hangers, and also do a skidplate under the crossmember after i add a transfercase. and those are 56,s up front and 63,s on back.
 
the shackles on the front and rear are 4", i used them on my other 2 sfa gm,s as well as my explorer and i liked the results. heres some more pics.
heres one of the start to getting the bedsides hung, it wont be welded to the frame it have body mounts. and i need to do a full floor and inner sidewalls.

can't wait to see how it turns out. It looks like the finished product will be very cool. I take it you're gonna trim up those back quarter panels to match the rocker panel line of the cab

Is it just an illusion or do the rear tires not protrude as much as the front ones?

well got me a new truck last night. a 08 2500hd reg cab with a 6.0 and 6sd auto and all power. ended up getting it for 10,000 off sticker. i allready have a dodge quad cab for the family, just wanted another truck and i really like the new gm,s. and kinda miss the good old reg cab trucks. so its getting a 6 inch and 37,s and gears then its done. and since im using the same grille and hood and headlights. i will have a perfect template in the driveway now. going to try and get the 468 in the blazer today, so i can atleast say somthing got done on it recently.
 
now i got a vortec 350 and 4l80e sitting on the floor and a empty spot for the 468. im going to run the 4l80e, wish it was the new 6 speed auto that came in my 2500, still need to cut off the ifs brackets and trim up the engine crossmember. once everthing fitted up i will tear the truck down to a stripped frame and por 15 the axles frame and other doodads.
