New Build ,Need ideas EDIT : New Rig added

So, events came about over the last few days, elimanting a few from the possible list. but adding 2 more

One of them being a 51 GMC 5-window its basically just a cab and front clip the frame is haggered and not really worth doing a resto on .

the other is a 80 scout terra pickup , I own it but have yet to see it. Dependeing on conditon it may also get the rockwell nod.

Do the 51 for sure.

A friend from Duluth is trying to get me to buy a 50 cab on an 84 frame from him.

It's not worth buying I've been told. My best friend built it back in the day.

We actually snuck into a gravel pit a few times when it was the 84 still. Holy **** I was 17 and that was a long time ago.

a 5 window or a Terra pickup.

Hmmmmmmm do the Terra pick up the cab and front clip and make a hot rod.

Motor for the hot rod, turbo straight 6:D:D

If you build this rig, can you at least keep the damn thing for more than 5 minutes this time? Lol

If you plan on wheeling hard whats the visibility like out of those choices?

That 51 would be awesome.

Like was mentioned, what's the visibility like, and how comfortable would that be to be wheeling all day?

No I don't have anytime our place for ANOTHER project but that would be cool. but the frame is hacked since this picture it had a badly done z to lower it.

Well I can try no promises

The scout is pretty awesome with especially with the doors off. the 51 would be kinda sucky and I hadn't really considered that I wonder how it compares to a K-truck.

As comfortable as anything once its caged and good seats installed :D

That and how well will a cage go into the 51 and still leave head room unless you go exo?

Probally Exo for the Halo and rear down bars which will double as a roof rack/Light bar then the front down bars will go trhough the roof and be tight to the windsheild ,through the floor and tie into the frame which will be tube. Dash will be mounted off the front cross bar ( stock dash is hosed) and probally a center console coming of that pentrating the rear of the cab and tieing in the the rear bars.

That should give me the head room I need , its all up in the air right now. I'm in the middle of a massive move back to New Mexcio which is gonna suck major time and money away from projects. AND we have a baby on the way as well

Okay I am on board with the 51 now. I been thinking about it and honestly your gonna be big enough that it might take some getting used to but being able to see everything will be way less important than on say a 37" tired buggy.

Your crude drawing looks cool.

Yeah I'm still up in the air on the whole thing , but I like this cuz its different, smaller then a K-truck,and NOT a jeep product. I am having some resrvations about killing a 90% rust free 5-window

People on the west coast do it all the time...so lets get chopping because I cant wait to see how this turns out.

Yeah thats true, and there isn't a tiltle to it, the VIN plate and title went on a different truck .

And these cabs are avaible new now as well

The 5 window would be cool with the front fenders removed and the front tubed out to match the angle of the hood.
