New carb, idle surge. Need to adjust timing?

Ok.

I give up.

Edlebrock just sucks I think. Replaced the carb with brand new same model from factory. Same issues.

Not fuel pressure. Not percolation. Not choke. Not floats. Not step up springs. Still has issues starting after warm (have to floor it to get it to start).

What carb should I get for my 350? I have mild cam, hei dizzy

Holley? quadrajet?

I'm gonna get summit to return my carb, just need to know what to get.

If you were to get your ideal carb for highway / trails, what would you get?

Thanks
Cam

call Jet...I have a stage 3 on my BB, and it is very responsive, makes great power and no hesitation.
Only issue I have is perhaps flooding on a steep incline, that I have yet to address. I would tell them to make sure the float is right for off roading.

I believe the stock quadrajets were 795cfm. the quadrajets only use what they need for cfm. Dont get a holley unless you like working on your carb.

Summit has agreed to swap the edlebrock for a jet quadrajet stage 2.

Should I go with 750 or 800 cfm on 350 w mild cam, headers... Or Does 50 cfm even matter?

So everyone agrees though, quadrajet over Holley or edlecrap? I want this to be the last carb swap for a while.

Thanks

quads are 750 or 800, but the engine rpm creates enough airflow to open the secondary airdoor, allowing more air/fuel into the engine.
Not a primary venturi vaccum source as with a Holley vac sec. carb.
If Jet says it's intended for a 305-400 go with it!

Alright, it's on its way!

In terms of fuel plumbing and throttle linkage, do I need anything special for the qjet?

I bought a 6AN male to 5/8 18 inverted flare male for my braided steel fuel line to connect to the fuel inlet. (does this look right?)

In terms of throttle return spring, etc., do I need to get anything else special?

Thanks!

I just slapped the new qjet on and Im having an issue with bogging right from idle.

I vacuum tuned the idle mixture screws to best vacuum, about 4.5 turns from seat.

When I step on the gas it hessitates, then lunges.

Any ideas?
